Kill the Irishman

Ray Stevenson and Vinnie Jones in the same movie got me interested. Also, it takes place near where I was born Youngstown, OH. The movie is about the famous Ohio mafia of the 70s. Danny Greene ran a union and worked for the Italian mob in Cuyahoga - outside of Cleveland. The movie also has original media clips which keep it going because it was not the most interesting fillm I've ever seen. All in all, I say: SKIP IT it was wierd to see 2 Englishman play Ohio Irishmen, and it's was boring.

The Way Back

Based on the true story of a group of men who escape a Siberian prison and end up in India. World War II Stalin puts these men in prison. One a career criminal when escapes stays in Russia (Colin Farrell). A Polish accountant, baker, artist, and soldier - the artist dies in the Gobi desert along with a Russian girl that joined them along the way (girl from Hanna). They had hoped to stop in Mongolia only to find it was communism and so turned toward Tibet and over the mountains to find freedom from communism. The American played by Ed Harris leaves the Polish men in Tibet to try to get to America. The main character vows to return to his home in Poland after the communist leave. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like long journeys or movies about escape.

Thor

Directed by Kenneth Branagh - strange I know. Based on a Marvel comic so Stan Lee has a cameo. The parts that are based on the myth were boring. The stuff on Earth felt off some how. The SHIELD appears - you know the guys from IronMan 2. A lot of famous people but the only actor I was interested in was: Ray Stevenson - LOVE HIM. I fast forwarded a lot. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you liked the comic - Kenneth go back to Shakespeare.

Shelter

2 psychiatrists one believes in multiple personalities and one that doesn't. The one that does the father keeps trying to convince the one that doesn't the daughter. The dad finds a case he thinks will prove it - he's wrong. The man is really a spirit cursed by mountain folk to find souls of people who don't believe in God and keep those souls with himself - the vessel. So, it turns out this was a religious horror - the granddaughter is the last victim - does her soul really find it's way back into her body? All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you really like religious horror - it does have Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

How Do You Know

Witherspoon & Rudd together again - yeah! There were some strange scenes - it's a romantic comedy - but it felt a little off the whole time. The ending was kind of strange too. A woman gets fired and meets 2 guys - which one is right - is either one right. One has everything the other guy is about to lose everything. I just love Rudd - even so though... All in all, I say: SEE IT if you're sick at home one day and it's on.

Five Minutes of Heaven

Neeson killed a Catholic during the Troubles in Northern Ireland and modern day he does speaking engagements and mediations around the world because he is trying to make amends for the killing. Nesbitt was the younger brother of the man that got killed - his mother blamed him in her grief. She dies and his father died soon after the shooting. A group that helps people reconciliate trys to get them to meet. Nesbitt backs out - after a while Neeson goes back to his home town to give Nesbitt a chance to confront him. There is a two story window in the last dramatic scene. All in all, I say: BRILLANT (say it with an Irish accent) SEE IT.

Fast Five

Another - I couldn't help myself. The only other one I think I saw on the big screen was the 1st one - I think the rest I saw on TV. So, Brewster's character is pregnant - they are on the run because they broke her brother out of jail again. They end up in Rio where they cross paths with the top criminal. So, the rest of the movies is them trying to get the bad guys money. One person dies and if you stay for the credits one person is coming back from the dead - maybe!? All in all, I say: SEE IT for the car chase scenes and the light humor - no sex - didn't want to get your hopes up.
