Now You See Me

IMDb writes, "An FBI agent and an Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money." This is only part of the story though. It is a tale of revenge and a secret society. The illusions are the cool part. It is a very well thought-out screenplay. The four horsemen are: Eisenberg and Harrelson both from Zombieland, Fisher (Rango), and Franco (21 Jump Street). The FBI agent is Ruffalo (The Kids Are Alright) and the Interpol agent is Laurent (Inglourious Basterds). Freeman and Caine both from The Dark Knight Rises may or may not be the men behind the four horsemen or just the objects of their revenge. All in all, I say: SEE IT - I saw it on Directv.

Air Force One

A hijacker (Oldman from The Professional) takes control of the President's plane. Ford (Clear and Present Danger) is the President, Close (Dangerous Liaisons) is the VP, Crewson (The Vow) plays the first lady, and Matthews (A Little Princess) plays the daughter. Macy (Fargo) and Stockwell (Quantum Leap) are supporting cast. It's really good. The screenplay and the acting make this a good watch. There are some one liners, but everyone expects that in an action film. There is a scene with a fighter jet that made me cry the first time I saw it. I always find these kinds of movies hard to watch because they are playing symbols of our country and you would hate to see these things really happen. All in all, I say: SEE IT

King Leonidas and a force of 300 men fight the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C. This is based on Zac Snyder's depiction of the graphic novel by Frank Miller. Filmed in sort of the same way Sin City was filmed. If you're a guy stop reading now - ladies!!! Ladies the men in this are half naked the whole time and look amazing. They also have accents. Butler (How To Train Your Dragon), West (The Wire), Wenham (LOTR), Regan (Lockout), and Fassbender (Haywire) are some of the Spartans. Santoro (Rio) is Xerxes. Me oh my. All in all, I say: SEE IT and pause, pause, pause, pause

28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later

IMDb writes, "Four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary." Oh man - where to begin this is in my top 10 all time favorite zombie movies. The Walking Dead was inspired by movies like this. Britain got horror right and zombies at that. The Irish actor Murphy is the main character (Inception), Brit Eccleston (Shallow Grave) plays a military leader, and  Irishman Gleeson (Troy) plays a another survivor. The movie also examines who is the worst enemy the plague or people who are trying to survive a plague. All in all, I say: SEE IT

They should have stopped - there was no need for a sequel especially this one. Even though Carlyle (The Full Monty) is in it - it isn't very good. IMDb writes, "Six months after the rage virus was inflicted on the population of Great Britain, the US Army helps to secure a small area of London for the survivors to repopulate and start again. But not everything goes to plan." All zombie movie lovers know what happens when you try to secure an area - never goes as planned.. It's predictable, but not good predictable. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The 13th Warrior

Based on a Michael Crichton book who also wrote the screenplay this is about an Arab ambassador (Banderas from ) who is persuaded to join 12 Viking into battle to fight a dragon. This is based on Beowulf. Imagine what Beowulf was really telling us, what if we could be there. They explain how they all come to speak the same language and there are touches of humor that work into the story perfectly. The explanation of the dragon or the eater of the dead is brilliant. There is a sad scene, but this movie as the best of the best by way of actors of the time who although were and are still unknown were tall, athletic, and excellent with the very heavy swords required of them to wield. Kulich the Czech actor (Ironclad) plays Buliwyf the leader of this group. The Scot Curran (The League of Exradorindary Gentlemen) and Egyptian Sharif (Hildago) have parts as well. All in all, I say: SEE IT, but first....

Read it!!! Always do this with an Crichton book turned into movie - read it first. Trust men the movie won't let you down. You just get a clearer picture of what you had in your mind when you were reading.

Two Mules for Sister Sara

IMDb writes, "Set in Mexico, a nun called Sara is rescued from three cowboys by Hogan, who is on his way to do some reconnaissance, for a future mission to capture a French fort. The French are chasing Sara, but not for the reasons she tells Hogan, so he decides to help her in return for information about the fort defences. Inevitably the two become good friends but Sara has a secret." Sara is played by MacLaine (The Apartment) and when the movie started I wasn't sure she and Eastwood (Dirty Harry) would have chemistry, but I think she has chemistry with everyone because she is an amazing actress. I love the music that accompanies Sara when she is on her mule. Guy Ritchie sort of pays homage to this in his second Sherlock film. If you watch closely you will pick up on Sara's secret, but I'm not telling. All in all, I say: SEE IT it is so funny and a classic western.

3:10 To Yuma

IMDb writes, "When the charming outlaw Ben Wade is captured after the heist of a stagecoach, the stage line owner Mr. Butterfield offers US$ 200 to the man that escorts the bandit to the city of Contention to take the 3:10 PM train to Yuma to be sent to trial. The rancher Dan Evans is broken and needs the money to save his cattle and support his family and accepts the assignment. During their journey, Dan saves the life of Ben when a vigilante tries to execute the criminal. Meanwhile Ben's gang split to find where Ben is and then rescues their boss. When they find that Ben is trapped in a hotel room, they put the place under siege and Dan can not find any man to help him." The Canadian actor Ford (The Big Heat) is the outlaw and Heflin (Shane) is the rancher who wants to show his son that his is not a coward. All in all, I say: SEE IT - it is brilliant and in my top 10 favorite westerns of all time.

An amazing remake and I mean - WOW!!! This blew me away. I wasn't sure about casting at first, but dam it was perfection. Crowe (The Gladiator) is Ben and Bale (Empire of the Sun) is Dan. But if I'm completely honest it is Ben Foster's portrayal of Ben's trusted side kick that makes this movie. Foster (The Messenger) is hands down one of the best actors of his generation and he never gets enough props in my opinion. All in all, I say: SEE IT right after you see the original.
