Zaxby's

So, I've given up beef and pork. I'm down to chicken and turkey. When I had my first real job at the movie theatre we use to go out to eat after work. Applebee's was always open after 1AM and served until then. We would lock up after the last show and head over there around midnight. I always had chicken fingers. A few years earlier honey mustard had been invented and was everywhere. That chicken finger basket was what I judged all other chicken fingers against. When Zaxby's started going up in my area I had to try the chicken fingers - amazing. They are great with the zax sauce - which I have to use in moderation because it has dairy in it. The fries a think crinkle fries with a seasoning that can sometimes be a little too much. I can't eat the toast in the chicken finger plate, but I can have the coleslaw which isn't a tame slaw not the typical southern style. All in all, I say: TRY THEM better than Applebees

Skinny Pop

No, I'm not on a diet. I worked at a movie theatre for over five years. In that time I had more than my share of popcorn. I went for years after not really ever wanting popcorn. When it came time for me to enjoy popcorn again I was allergic to dairy. It was difficult to find popcorn. Orville had a natural popcorn, but adding "fake" butter was difficult and it never really tasted the way I wanted it to. Then a friend bought me a really big bag of Skinny Pop popcorn. No GMOs, no gluten, no preservatives, no dairy, and no sugar. Ingredients: popcorn, salt, and sunflower oil. It is heaven - it is hard to not go through an entire bag in one sitting. They also have black pepper, white cheddar, and sweet versions. I haven't had the black pepper. The sweet has cane juice in it. All in all, I say: EAT IT EAT IT EAT IT!!!!!!!

X-Men: Days of Future Past

It's the end of the world and the only thing that can make it right is to go back and fix a small thing in the past. The only person able to make the trip is Wolverine. Same cast - same awesome action - same awesome nakedness - you have to have seen all the others to really and truly appreciate & love this film. Ending will blow you away. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Blended

Barrymore & Sandler (Wedding Singer) are both single parents. They end up going on a family trip to South Africa where they and their kids bond with one another. It is a romantic comedy. There is a really good scene that involves music that made me laugh out loud. The rest is borderline ridiculous - as most Sandler movies are. All in all, I say: RENT IT if you like his films with Barrymore, otherwise, SKIP IT

Veep

A wealthy divorced politician becomes VP after being a Senator. She and her staff face all sorts of hilarious situations. In the second season, she is ready to go for the number one seat - President. Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld) plays the VP. Chlumsky (My Girl) is her chief of staff and campaign manager. Hale (Arrested Development) is her bag man. Cole (Office Space) is also helping on her campaign. It is a quick half hour on HBO that will have you smiling and laughing. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The (Dead Mother's) Club

A documentary for HBO. "Three women bound by the shared experience of having lost their mothers during adolescence yet whose paths never cross." Jane Fonda is interviewed. She talks about how her mother didn't love her or show her affection because of a mental illness which would eventually cause her to take her own life. Fonda also talks about how this affected how she treated her kids. Rosie O'Donnell also talks about losing her mom and the effect it had on her. The two interviews are mixed in with the main story of the film. It is sad and very well done. All in all, I say: SEE IT on HBOGo

Orphan Black

I can't believe I didn't already blog about this - season two has started in full swing - Maslany (Diary of the Dead) is a rick star. She was skipped over in the award season this year, but she better not be neglected again. This show is about clones, but I don't want to give too much away other than to say - she really plays each person completely different. It will blow your mind. All in all, I say: SEE IT
