Moonstruck

IMDB writes, "Loretta Castorini, a book keeper from Brooklyn, New York, finds herself in a difficult situation when she falls for the brother of the man she agreed to marry (the best friend of her late husband who died seven years previously)." She agreed to marry Aiello (City Hall) and his brother Cage (Kick-Ass) actually gets the girl - played by Cher (Burlesque). Dukakis (The Last Keepers) plays her mother. Everyone is hilarious in this. It's also very romantic. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Phenomenon

Travolta (Staying Alive) is a kind simple man who lives in a small town. He runs a garage and is love with a new single mom (Sedgwick from The Closer) who has moved into town. On the night of his birthday he sees a flash of light and passes out. When he comes too he can't sleep. All he wants to do is read, learn, and experiment. He becomes smarter, so smart that others come to fear him and the government wants to study him. It is kind of touching. Whitaker (The Butler) plays his best friend. Duvall (Open Range) plays the local doctor. The end makes me cry. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Was on HBO - such people as Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, and Kiss were inducted. I loved the intro for Gabriel - very funny. I loved the Cat Stevens Music. All in all, I say: SEE IT

We're the Millers

Sudeikis (SNL) is in this, so I had to give it a go. Aniston (Friends) pretends to be a drug dealers wife to get some drugs over the Mexican-American border. Things go wrong and they all end up in witness protection. Roberts (Nancy Drew) does a good job. I think he's funny. I found out he isn't always funny when he's not doing his own stuff. It tried - it had some funny moments, but as a whole I wasn't impressed.
He's smart, funny, and cute. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The East

Batmanglij (Another Earth) wrote and directed this movie about a group of environmental anarchists and a corporation that infiltrates organizations for wealthy clients. Marling (Another Earth) has the lead role as she does in all his films. She ends up connecting to the group and their mission. Skarsgard (True Blood) is the leader of the group. Page (Juno) is a member of the group. Hodge (Leverage) is also a member. Ritter (The Event) is her boyfriend. Clarkson (Easy A) is her boss. Ormond (Che) plays a corporate flunky. It's slow, but interesting. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like those slow dramas where people are trying to find themselves.

The Legend of Hercules

Yuck! I expected more from Harlin (Die Hard). It was designed to be a cool 3D action movie, but yuck!
I don't even want to tell you who is in it that I like because I am embarrassed for him - them.
IMDb writes, "The origin story of the the mythical Greek hero. Betrayed by his stepfather, the King, and exiled and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love, Hercules must use his formidable powers to fight his way back to his rightful kingdom."

All in all, I say: WATCH THE DISNEY VERSION - it's soooooo much better.

Raising Cane's

I have only eaten there 2 or 3 times when entering or leaving Athens. I love chick fingers and so I had to try this place. They have thin crinkle fries with no seasoning - which I love, love! They have decent cole slaw - I don't eat the Texas toast. Their special sauce does have dairy in it, so I eat in moderation. The chicken fingers are better than Zaxby's most days and definitely better than Applebees. All in all, I say: TRY THEM with some sweet tea.
