Middle School is Worse than Meatloaf
This is the story of a middle school girl who has 2 brothers. The older is in high school and having a very difficult time. Her father has died and her mother has recently remarried. The story is told in school projects, essays, tickets stubs, receipts, and banking statements to name a few. It is really original and it's so fragmented a middle-schooler would barely realise they were reading. All in all, I say: READ IT

The Veteran
IMDb writes, "A soldier returning from the war in Afghanistan uncovers a conspiracy involving the intelligence services and a gang of drug dealers." It was just too much. They spent too much time on him doing nothing. They had too many sub-plots. There were too many missed shots. Nothing very exiting happens until the very end. The end is a political/societal statement. The main character is played by Toby Kebbell who played John Wilkes Booth in The Conspirator. All in all, I say: SKIP IT.
NY-LON
Only lasted one season, 7 episodes. Stephen Moyer (True Blood) is a banker in London. He pays for his sister's college, his nephew's private schooling, his nephew's mother's mortgage, and his own mortgage. One night he meets an American and it is all over after that. He is hooked and totally in love. His character is adorable - as is his accent. The American is Rashida Jones (Office) and she is not as sure as he is. She has recently split up with her boyfriend and loves her life in NY - she teaches adult literacy and works in a record store. In the last show he wants to marry her and have her move to London. He has a lot more to give up and a lot more responsibility, so it really pissed me off when she demanded that the only way they could be together was for him to move. I hated, HATED the ending - I hated her character even more. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it was cancelled and nothing really felt resolved and you never know if she loves him.
the Book group season 1 & 2
Clare (played by Anne Dudek from House) is from Ohio and decides to move to Scotland to write a book. She is lonely however, so she decides to start a book club. 3 of the people in the club are footballer wives (soccer). One is a literature student. One is a now handicapped mountaineer. One is gay and obsessed with football (soccer). Season one there was just enough drama and just enough book discussion. Season 2 went horribly wrong and everything was over done: the acting, the filming, and the script. All in all, I say: STREAM season 1 - SKIP season 2.
Five days Season 2
I am not sure how or why season 1 is no where to be found, but the same characters aren't in season 2, so I guess it doesn't matter. This 5 part series follows a divorced cop that moves back home from London to help her mother with an illness. She falls in love and helps solve a couple of crimes. You get to see all points of view in this series. The ending is not what I thought and one of the main characters that I loved dies! All in all, I say: STREAM IT if you like BBC mysteries - SKIP IT if you like happy endings. Also, the character that dies in this is going to play the Governor in season 3 of the Walking Dead.
The Dark Zone: A Galahad Book
The 4th book in the series. Everyone on Earth has died from a disease that cannot be cured - it came in the tail of a comet. 251 teens are given a ship & the resources they need to make it to another galaxy to start life over again. In this book, they encounter an unusual species that kills one of the crew and opens a wormhole. Will they follow and enter the wormhole to investigate or just continue their journey. All in all, I say: if you read the other 3 - READ IT.
