Good Girls Revolt

This is a pilot for a coming soon tv series on Amazon. It takes place at a news magazine in the 60s & 70s. The women do the "research" - all the hard work and most of the writing. The men get credit for the stories. Each woman is paired with a man get to complete for the front page. All this is taking place at the beginning of the women's movement. Vietnam is still in the news. Camp (True Blood), Belushi (New Years Eve), and Parrish (Weeds) all star. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Lobster

Super yuck! I'm sure the entire thing is supposed to be some kind of metaphor, but after they killed the dog I was done man. You have to fall in love or rather couple up before a certain time or you become an animal. In order to get more days to find love you can go out and capture single people to turned over. It's disturbing and I got nothing out of it. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Charlotte's Web

This book is a classic. I totally fell in love with this book as a kid. Amazon writes, "Some Pig. Humble. Radiant. These are the words in Charlotte's Web, high up in Zuckerman's barn. Charlotte's spiderweb tells of her feelings for a little pig named Wilbur, who simply wants a friend. They also express the love of a girl named Fern, who saved Wilbur's life when he was born the runt of his litter.
E. B. White's Newbery Honor Book is a tender novel of friendship, love, life, and death that will continue to be enjoyed by generations to come. It contains illustrations by Garth Williams, the acclaimed illustrator of E.B. White's Stuart Little and Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series, among many other books.". All in all, I say: READ IT

The animated movie version that came in in the 70s is just as much a classic as the book is. Reynolds (Singing in the Rain), Lynde (Bewitched), Gibson (The Burbs), Bonaduce (Partridge Family), and Allen (Frontier Doctor) all star - well their voices do. All in all, I say: SEE IT after you read the book.

Live action and live action pigs became all the rage after Babe, so Web was remade into live action. The soundtrack was a weepy one. Georgia native Fanning (War of the World), Georgia native Roberts (Pretty Woman), Cleese (Monty Python), Buscemi (Fargo), Wnfrey (Color Purple), Bates (Misery), Redford (Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid), McEntire (Tremors), and Church (Wings) all star - well their voices and some live. All in all, I say: SEE IT after the original.

Cellular

This was a surprise. I never saw it when or if it was released. I rented it later. I had never seen Evans (Marvel) before and he did a good job. He's a regular kid who get s random call on his cell phone from Basinger (8 Mile) who says she's been kidnapped. He's her only help. Macy (Fargo) and Statham (Mechanic) stand in his way. It was well done in my opinion. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Cars

If people were cars - the animation is what you're watching - look at clouds and every detail - it's crazy. Wilson (Bottle Rocket) is the main character. Hunt (Return to Me) is the love interest. Newman (Long Hot Summer) is the old car that is instructed the new car, so he can get his groove back in time for a big race. All in all, I say: SEE IT

SO, they tried to go bigger with the sequel and it ended up being long and boring. And unrealistic - they should have found a better plot. IMDb writes, "Star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage". All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Caddyshack

Dangerfield (Easy Money) is a new member to an exclusive golf club. Chase (SNL) is already a member ot sponsors him in order to shack things up. Murray (Zombieland) is the grounds keeper. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Same basic story as the first - a white trash family wants in but is rejected so they build an amusement park next door. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Mechanic: Resurrection

Not an original plot. The only thing that was original - the ways he kills two men he has been blackmailed to kill. Statham (Mechanic) takes his shirt off - wait for it.....6 times. Yes, 6 times!!!! He does some swimming and diving that will make an Olympic diver drool. Alba (Sin City) is there for eye candy and doesn't bring much to the part. I don't know why Jones (The Fugitive) had to be in the movie - his part could have been played by anyone. Yeoh (Crouching Tiger) played a small part and why - she doesn't do any martial arts. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
