Keeping Faith

 

Eve Myles (TOrchwood) older and with blond hair took a little getting use too. I like her, so I decided to try this show on Acorn. A lawyer is finishing up with her maternity leave when her husband goes missing. She uncovers a lot of his secrets and his clients secrets in her search for him. The local police aren't much help, they start to believe she's bumped him off. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - I thought it would resolve itself like a quick mini-series...nope it's a Welsh soap opera that's gone on for about 3 seasons.

Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight series) meet sup with her husband in an Australian fishing town to open their first business without the help of his rich Canadian family. He goes missing their first morning together. As the search for her husband continues, everyone's secrets in town are revealed. It's tries to be suspense, but mainly it's soap opera. Season 1 is one Acorn. All in all, I say: SKIP IT if you want a resolution - if you like soap operas SEE IT

On AMC and AMC + director James Cameron talks to a who's who of science fiction in American film. It's well done, covers several great topics, and interviews a few greats. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like science fiction.

Eli Roth's History of Horror

 

On AMC and AMC+, two seasons where director Eli Roth speaks with a who's who in American horror to discuss themes and films. If you like any kind of horror this is very interesting and well done. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Emily in Paris

 

Darren Star (Younger) created this comedy show for Netflix. An ambitious American gets an unexpected opportunity to work with her company's new acquired marketing firm in France. It's a soap opera, but funny. She makes "American" mistakes. The French are very stereotypical French. There is romance. All in all, I say: SEE IT - if you want something light; something not to take to serious. 

TWD: World Beyond

 

Julia Ormond (Sabrina) is one of the leaders of TCR - the civic republic - the group that took Rick. This off shoot of TWD follows a group of young people who are traveling across the country to get to TCR main base in NY. We see a group of people who were very young children when "the sky fell". Zombies - empties - are still an issue, but not as big an issue as are the motives of TCR and their spy. It's a slower look at this world. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like TWD universe.

Good Morning, Veronica

 

A Brazilian, female detective witnesses a suicide by a young woman and decides to investigate the circumstances around her death. She ends up investigating two other cases involving abused women. At one point the police suspend her and even accuse her for a crime, but she prevails. It's got some issues - a little too long - a little to off as far as editing and timeline in parts. It could have been better. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
