Four girls as they grow up in the 1800s. A classic for young women everywhere. Each character has a unique personality - you're sure to find you are more like one over the others. All in all, I say: READ IT
In 1918 Hollywood released this silent, black and white film version. I have only seen scenes in a film class. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like silent.
1933, this is the one out of all of them. This is the classic film version - Hepburn (Bringing Up Baby). See it in black and white and not Ted's color. All in all, I say: SEE IT
The 40s version starred Allyson (Girl Crazy) she is an acquired taste. Her mouth and the way she talks can get on my nerves - others love her. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
In the 50s a tv movie was made with Henderson (Brady Bunch). I have never seen it. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
In the 70s, UK put out a tv movie of the book. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
Late 70s a tv version with Baxter (Family Ties) was released. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
This is the other version I would watch after reading the book. This was the 90s and Danes (Homeland) did an amazing death scene. Ryder (Reality Bites), Dunst (Fargo), Alvarado (Frighteners), Sarandon (Dead Man Walking), Mathis (American Psycho), Bale (American Psycho), Stoltz (Singles), and Bryne (Ghost Ship) all starred. It was well directed and filmed. All in all, I say: SEE IT
Rumor has it a new version is in development - we shall see.
