Love's Kitchen

Just Netflix'ed a lovely British comedy starring an American and a Scot or is it Scott? Man loses his wife in an accident and his cooking goes to crap - thanks to a harsh critic he turns things around. Turns out the American critic he falls in love with is the same one that wrote the bad review, but also the one that helped him become a success again. The cast is fun. All in all, I say: STREAM IT.

Switched at Birth

Season 1 the girls and their parents meet and try to figure out how things should work. The actors and not the plot are what had me hooked. I watched all of season one - one right after the other. I think it's been cancelled which is good because I don't like it when things get to be too much "drama". I want to leave the rest to my imagination. You know like we all loved Season 1 of Grey's but now it's like I can't take it any more it's just a soap opera trying to shock you and the plot & acting get lost. Back to the Birth show. All in all, I say: STREAM IT.

Blitz

A serial killer is out to get every cop that has done him wrong. There are a couple of back stories that add to the piece. It was a who's who of UK TV with the exception of Statham everyone in this has been on a ton of UK TV shows - it was awesome. If you don't watch a lot of UK TV then you won't really recognize many people. Don't expect a lot of Statham action though. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you like Statham or UK TV - wow four times probably wasn't necessary.

A Summer in Genoa

Firth plays a widow with 2 girls. They leave USA for Italy 6 months after the funeral and start a new life while adjusting to the loss. It is slow like most Italian films - it's struggle, rebellion, and a lot crying like most "lost your mom" films. All in all, I say: STREAM IT if you are in a lazy mood.

The Debt

Based on an Israeli movie. Three young Mossad agents are given the task of capturing a nazi doctor and bringing him to Israel to face a trial. Everything seems to go wrong. The other half of the movie is over 30 years later - controversy raises it head. Will the group tell the truth or do anything to keep their secrets from Berlin in the 40s. Sam Worthington does a good job - as does Helen Mirren (older Rachel). Jessica Chastain plays the younger Rachel (she was in The Help) does an excellent job. All in all, I say: RENT IT.

Dralion

Cirque du Soleil show Dralion was a chinese acrobatic show. A smaller cirque show. There was a lot of dance and transitions and not enough cool stuff. I did like the thing where they walk up the wall. The clowns planted a person in the audience. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Colombiana

The name of the movie should have been the name of the main character - 1st mistake. Luc Besson wrote this so it is like most of his work - girl wants revenge, kicks butt, and doesn't end up with the love of her life. The action was good. I didn't feel much sympathy for the main character though because she was tough even as a young girl. The actor that plays her uncle is a Kiwi but they caste him as a Colombian - weird. All in all, I say: RENT IT
