The Next Three Days

Haggis does a good job. A good acting group - except Elizabeth Banks - there are some bit parts that were filled by some top notch actors. All of them do a good job & none of them over do it. The chick from House is really getting around. All in all, I say: SEE IT. Happy ending and it is exactly what it advertised in the previews.

Faster

Surprising movie - very well written. I think it is one of the best revenge, action movies I have seen in awhile. It was short and worth it. The cars, the guns, and bodies. The previews you give the plot, but trust me - it was so much more than that. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Unstoppable

Based on a true story - I never heard about. Tony Scott film so you know it's digital and gritty. Considering there isn't much dialogue it was pretty good. All in all, I say: RENT IT.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

It's too bad it took the second to last film in the series for the actors to be at their best. The screenwriting to be at it's best and the plot to be exactly like the book. I wish they could go back and start over - the first 2 were brillant - they ruined my favorite the 3rd & unless you read the books the last movie doesn't really prepare you for this one properly. All in all, I say: SEE IT you know you have to.

Tangled

Zachary Levi from Chuck plays a thief that in the end saves the girl and changes his ways. The animation did a good job of getting Zach's expressions. Mandy Moore does a good job at being Rapunzel. The songs were short and good. The movie seemed to be ready to hit Broadway. All in all, I say: SEE IT the kids loved it - we did not see the 3D version and after seeing regular version there wouldn't be much to the 3D.

Tangled

Zachary Levi (from Chuck) plays a thief who falls in love with a princess and wants to change his ways. He narrates the story too. The animation really captures Zachs expressions too. I don't know if he sang his own songs. Mandy Moore does a good job playing Rapunzel. The animal characters are funny. The songs are well written and short. It's like it was made to be a Broadway musical. The kids loved it - we did not see the 3D version. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Skyline

Before you start to question my taste - I only wanted to check it out for free on-line because it has Eric Balfour (I know from Six Feet Under, some of you may know from new sci-fi show Haven). So, aliens come and they cannot be killed. A guy finds out his girlfriend is pregnant - well even without knowing that - he wants to get her to safety. They get captured & his brain is taken by one of the aliens and he still wants to protect her as an alien- the special effects are ok- that's where I stopped watching. All in all, I say: SKIP IT don't even rent it.

Tron

Bruce Boxleitner (I use to watch in Scarecrow & Mrs. King / some of you may have watched in Babylon 5) is Tron - a computer program (yes, reminds us all of Matrix) that was designed to get passed the security of the Master to get at a companies secrets. A programmer is accidently sent into the computer system and helps Tron to beat the Master. The special effects were cool the first time I saw the movie, but now they are a little strange. I had to see it again in preparation for the new Tron: Legacy coming out with the chick from House. All in all, I say: SEE IT before you see the Matrix.

Morning Glory

The screenplay was brilliant. The acting was good. Although, it was not what I expected - it made me laugh. All in all, I say: SEE IT for a relaxing fun time.

Dexter Season 5

Are you even watching this right now? I can't get over it - Julia Stiles (from the Bourne movies), Peter Weller (Robo Cop), Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers), and Chris Vance (from UK mainly tv stuff, I love his accent - he is only 3 years older than I am & good lookin') ALL on Dexter. All in all, SEE IT now.

You Again

I've been so busy lately, but I think this is the last of the movies I need to catch up on. I think aside from Megamind - this was the last movie I saw. It was too embarrassing - I had to close my eyes a lot. Bell doesn't even get to fall in love and get kissed - they edit out all that stuff - it is only about high school memories & revenge - I can't relate. All in all, I say: SKIP IT I miss the Veronica Mars days.

Megamind

So, I finish some homework - the kids have been dying to see this - so we go. I loved the previews - it was - well - it was not exactly like I expected and boy did it have some long, boring parts. My oldest niece did ok, but the younger one was just as bored as me. All in all, I say: SKIP IT if you have kids see it when it comes on tv for free.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Strange in a really creative way. Thomas Jane makes a camero appearence. All in all, I say: SEE IT some time.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Well, it was strange but in a really creative way. Thomas Jane had a camero so I guess All in all, SEE IT some time.

Ramona & Beezus

It was cute - not exactly like the book - but it did capture the essence of the book - I wonder why they never made that series into an tv series? All in all, I say: SEE IT - they even used very talented adult actors.

The Social Network

Well, everyone said see it so I did. It was what I thought it would be except - I didn't know Aaron Sorkin was West Wing wrote it. I love his dialoque and the actors did a great job delivering. All in all, I say: SEE IT when it comes to HBO or Showtime.

Elvis & Anabelle

Elvis is an 18 year old who is doing his father's job without a liscense. Elvis's dad was injured and can no longer run his funeral home. A young beauty queen dies and ends up on Elvis's table. For some reason he kisses her lightly on the lips and puff she wakes up. Is it because they are meant for each other? Was it a miracle? All in all, I say: SEE IT - if it ever comes on tv.

Conviction

Sam does a good job. I get tired of looking at Swank's lips and I don't like it when she eats - gives me the creeps. Good story - touching - too little Driver though. All in all, I say: SEE IT. It is shocking to see how many people the justice system have put away that have been cleared from DNA evidence. Chilling.
