1923

A prequel to Yellowstone on Paramount. Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) and Helen Mirren (The Queen) are Duttons running the ranch. They are in the middle of a war with the sheep herders. It's brutal and so good. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Servant

Lauren Ambrose (6 Feet Under) and Toby Kebbell (Warcraft) are a couple who lost a child. That is until they hire a live in nanny. She's in a cult of sorts and has the power to bring their son to life. It's M Night Shyamalan strange - the girl could be an angel or demon. It's got 3 seasons on Appletv. It's like watching a car wreck - I just couldn't stop once I started. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you like his work.

The Invitation

A gothic horror film on Netflix. Nathalie Emmanuel (GoT) stars as an unknowing relative of a powerful family. This movie explains why Dracula has 3 wives. It's okay. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it had potential, but falls short.

Inside Man

This is one crazy series on Netflix. David Tennant (Dr Who) is a local religious leader who gets caught up in an illegal scandal. He makes all the wrong decisions. Stanly Tucci (Devil Wears Prada) is a convict that solves very hard to solve crimes. He has a network on the outside in England that he uses to get things done. It's crazy how these 2 become connected. It's not a happy ending really. Tucci makes this though. Really well done. IMDb writes, "A prisoner on death row in the US and a woman trapped in a cellar under an English vicarage, cross paths in the most unexpected way.". All in all, I say: SEE IT

Knives Out: Glass Onion

Daniel Craig (Bond) reprises his role as a famous detective in this Netflix released movie. A new mystery to solve. I think it was predictable and not as well written as the first. I can see why it was direct release to Netflix. It's a star studded cast. All in all, I say: SKIP IT or WATCH when bored one day.

Darby and the Dead

A teen movie on Hulu about a girl who has a near death experience and ever since can see dead people. When a dead cheerleader asks for her help, Darby sort of loses her way trying to be popular in high school. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - acting not so great.

Ugly Love

It's my first Hoover book - I listened to it on Audible. Amazon writes, "When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.

Love gets ugly.". All in all, I say: READ IT - it's a good get away from it all book.

Meet in the Margins

I listened to this on Audible. It's predictable and a little frustrating. The main character just gets walked all over constantly. Amazon writes, "Savannah Cade’s dreams are coming true. The Claire Donovan, editor-in-chief of the most successful romance publishing company in the country, has requested to see the manuscript Savannah’s been secretly writing. The only problem: she’s an editor for a different company, and their philosophy is only highbrow works are worth printing and romance should be reserved for the lowest level of Dante’s inferno.

But when Savannah drops her manuscript during a staff meeting and nearly exposes herself to the whole company—including William Pennington, the new boss and son of the romance-despising CEO herself—she has no choice but to hide the manuscript in a hidden room.

When she returns, she’s dismayed to discover that someone has not only been in her hidden nook but has written notes in the margins—quite critical ones. But when Claire’s own reaction turns out to be nearly identical to the scribbled remarks, and worse, Claire announces that Savannah has six weeks to resubmit before she retires, Savannah finds herself forced to seek the help of the shadowy editor after all.

As their notes back and forth start to fill up the pages, however, Savannah finds him not just becoming pivotal to her work but her life. There’s no doubt about it: she’s falling for her mystery editor. If she only knew who he was.". All in all, I say: READ IT - it's a quick one

Happy Ever After Playlist

I listened to this on audible after I read her most recent book. I also follow her on Tik Tok. Amazon writes, "Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a "take me home" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?". All in all, I say: READ IT - it's so cute.

Flirting with Forever

I listened to this book on Audible. It's book 3 of a series. Amazon writes, "Mary Trace is bright, bubbly, and back in the dating pool in her mid-30s. All of her closest friends are in love, and she refuses to miss out on romance. So when a regular customer at her trendy Brooklyn boutique wants to set Mary up on a blind date with her son, she gives a hesitant yes. John Modesto-Whitford is gorgeous and well-groomed, so maybe dinner won’t be a total bust - until he drops a less-than-flattering comment about Mary’s age.

Desperate to be nothing like his snake of a politician father, public defender John Modesto-Whitford prides himself on his honesty and candor. But his social awkwardness and lack of filter just blew it with the most beautiful woman he’s ever dated.

Luckily, Mom’s machinations keep Mary and John running into each other all summer long, and soon they resort to fake dating to get her to back off. When their pretense turns to real friendship - and some surprisingly hot chemistry - can these two stubborn individuals see past their rocky start to a rock-solid future together?". All in all, I say: READ IT
