The food is made once you order by their chef. You can make special requests. Everything is fresh - They try to do farm to table. The service was amazing. All in all, I say: EAT THERE

Chelsea Handler goes around the country interviewing people for her documentary on white privilege. The entire thing is an exercise in white privilege. All in all, I say: SKIP IT on Netflix.

Wanda Sykes: Not Normal

A stand-up special on Netflix. She talks about being a mom among other current issues. I've seen some of her stuff before and this was good. Not great, but not bad. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Downton Abbey - The movie

A two hour amazing ride with all the same characters from the tv show. The King and Queen are stopping by for a visit. Almost every single character gets a little side plot or story. Maggie Smith wins though for the best lines. It was as if no time had past since the end of the show, and I hope they make another. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Ad Astra

Brad Pitt (Thelma & Louise) is an astronaut in the future - where you have to be part science and part military. His dad went off into space and never came back when he was a kid. His dad is a hero and he wants to be too. He has daddy issues, as well as, life issues. He is struggling with life and relationships. He is asked to go out into space and find his dad - he is now beleived to be alive and trying to destroy Earth. Tommy Lee Jones (Fugitive) is the dad who went in search of intelligent life. The entire movie is slow as shit. And really it's just a metaphor or allegory for mans search for god or lack of god. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Threesome

A British show I found on Hulu. IMDb writes, "Threesome is a comedy about three inseparable friends on the verge of 30. Alice lives with her boyfriend Mitch and their gay best friend Richie. Together they form three points of an unlikely triangle, living, laughing, and larging it together.". It was different and I got hooked. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Trinkets

This is a Netflix show about three high schoolers who steal / shoplift and why they do what they do. It looks at the drama in their lives. The characters are interesting. It's a bit more grown up than high school though I think. Brianna Hildebrand from X-Men stars. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Inbetween

I caught this show on Hulu. It's about a girl who sees the ghost before they move on to Heaven or Hell. The ghosts want her help in solving their deaths or getting closure. She works closely with one of her two adoptive fathers. He is a Seattle cop (Paul Blackthorne from Dresdin Files) who uses her talents to solve crime - he good without her too, but together they catch the bad guys sooner. Filmed in Canada it had me hooked from the first show. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Hustlers

This is a movie based on a true story of some NY strippers who need to make money after the financial crisis. They do so by drugging rich guys and running a large tab on their credit card. It stars Constance Wu (Fresh off the boat) and Jennifer Lopez (Selena). There is really only one or two strippers scenes on a pole - impressive. The rest is jut a crime movie. All in all, I say: SKIP IT.

Roswell

Originally a teen romance show about an alien who falls in love with a local high school girl played by Shiri Appleby from UnReal. They worry about being discovered - the 3 aliens and maybe they aren't alone, but it was heavy on romance. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Roswell, New Mexico is a new updated version on the CW. They are all in college. There is a race component. The main character and her father are Mexican immigrants. It's more modern and current with what's going on now. It's also more of a murder mystery than a romance. Appleby also gets to direct some episodes. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Falling Inn Love

On Netflix. A woman tired of her life enters a contest to win an Inn in New Zealand. She wins and ends up falling in love with a local contractor played by Adam Demos from UnReal. It's cute like a Hallmark or Lifetime romance movie. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The wealthy woman (Patricia Clarkston from Easy A) seeks to destroy the bookstore owner at any cost. She only has one ally - a recluse played by Bill Nighy from Underworld. All in all, I say: SKIP IT it's sad and defeating.

Late Night

A British woman who hosts a nightly comedy show (played by Emma Thompson from Sense & Sensibility) has been "phoning it in" lately and the network decides to cancel her. She looks at her life, her job, and her future and decides to make changes. One of the changes is her writing staff. Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project) with no experience is hired because she's a woman, but helps the host find her way forward. It could have been better. It wasn't bad  I blame the director. All in all, I say: WATCH IT on Amazon.

Can't We Talk about Something

Amazon writes, "In her first memoir, New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast brings her signature wit to the topic of aging parents. Spanning the last several years of their lives and told through four-color cartoons, family photos, and documents, and a narrative as rife with laughs as it is with tears, Chast's memoir is both comfort and comic relief for anyone experiencing the life-altering loss of elderly parents.
While the particulars are Chast-ian in their idiosyncrasies--an anxious father who had relied heavily on his wife for stability as he slipped into dementia and a former assistant principal mother whose overbearing personality had sidelined Roz for decades--the themes are universal: adult children accepting a parental role; aging and unstable parents leaving a family home for an institution; dealing with uncomfortable physical intimacies; and hiring strangers to provide the most personal care.
An amazing portrait of two lives at their end and an only child coping as best she can, Can't We Talk about Something More Pleasant shows the full range of Roz Chast's talent as cartoonist and storyteller.". All in all, I say: READ IT it's a heavy and difficult topic to read or talk about. In this comic like format it makes it easier. If that makes any sense. She puts it all out there for us and I think she is a brace writer.

Uncle

This is a funny, short TV series on Hulu that was filmed in UK. An uncle connects with his nephew and together they grow up. The best part is  - in almost every episode there is a short song with music video like scene that adds to the humour. It's original and fun. All in all, I say: STREAM IT

She also brings a very special guest to say hi.". All in all, I say: SEE IT. I've always liked her as a comedian.

Aziz Ansari: Right Now

Another comedian on Netflix doing stand-up. He was hit with a #metoo scandal which he talks about. His voice goes up and down in volume some parts need captioning. I've never seen his stand-up but I like it better than some of his shows. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Chris Rock: Tamborine

HBO is not the only place to go now to see good Stand-up. Netflix has a ton of recent comedy specials including this one from Chris Rock. He's older and more mature. He talks about recent in the news topics and it's not at all like his old stuff. It's not bad though. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Fallen

From the Amos Decker series. Amazon writes, "Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes--obscure bible verses, odd symbols--have the police stumped.

Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has only been there a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.

Then the next killing hits sickeningly close to home. And with the lives of people he cares about suddenly hanging in the balance, Decker begins to realize that the recent string of deaths may be only one small piece of a much larger scheme--with consequences that will reach far beyond Baronville.

Decker, with his singular talents, may be the only one who can crack this bizarre case. Only this time--when one mistake could cost him everything--Decker finds that his previously infallible memory may not be so trustworthy after all...". All in all, I say: READ IT if you have started the series. He is an interesting character.

The Kitchen

This movie is based on a comic book I never read about wives of mobsters in the 70s in Hells Kitchen NY. They take over when their husbands are sent away, but someone has other plans for everyone. Melissa McCarthy (Bridemaids), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Elizabeth Moss (Handmaids), and Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) all star. It's well acted, appropriately violent, and it's a drama which is surprising with all the comedic actors involved. All in all, I say: RENT IT

Hobbs and Shaw

From Fast & Furious franchise - the 2 characters from the series Hobbs played by The Rock and Shaw played by Jason Statham team together. The plot isn't really why you see the movie though. You see it for the 2 of them fighting each other and fighting others. It is unfortunately a no-shirter for Jason. It an action packed fun Hollywood movie. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you have seen the other films in the franchise.

The Hit

Amazon writes, "Will Robie is a master of killing.

A highly skilled assassin, Robie is the man the U.S. government calls on to eliminate the worst of the worst--enemies of the state, monsters committed to harming untold numbers of innocent victims.

No one else can match Robie's talents as a hitman...no one, except Jessica Reel. A fellow assassin, equally professional and dangerous, Reel is every bit as lethal as Robie. And now, she's gone rogue, turning her gun sights on other members of their agency.

To stop one of their own, the government looks again to Will Robie. His mission: bring in Reel, dead or alive. Only a killer can catch another killer, they tell him.

But as Robie pursues Reel, he quickly finds that there is more to her betrayal than meets the eye. Her attacks on the agency conceal a larger threat, a threat that could send shockwaves through the U.S. government and around the world." He's an interesting character and now a new character comes into his life. All in all, I say: READ IT
