Last Knights

Owen (The Knick) seeks revenge for the death of his master played by Freeman (Glory). It is sort of the future, but also medieval in nature. Hard to explain, but the action is good. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - you can tell why it went straight to video. The plot is just too bizarre.

McFarland, USA

Biography about a once football coach (Costner from Field of Dreams) who is moves to a small Hispanic town filled with pickers. Football isn't working out for him. so he decides to start the school's first cross country team which goes on to win state championships. It's touching and you root for the boys. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Spy

McCarthy (Bridesmaids) will do anything for a spy she has a crush on (Law from Cold Mountain) including avenging his death by Byrne (Bridesmaids). Baccarin (Homeland), Cannavale (Chef), and Lee (Total Recall) all star. Statham (The Transporter) is the best though - he goes back to his comedy roots and it's so good. Some scenes take it too far, but overall it was enjoyable. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Bravetown

A young man ditches school to DJ at clubs and do drugs. He is caught and sent to live in a small town with his estranged father. There he meets a therapist, a new girlfriend, and a new path. Almost everyone in town is a military family and most high school graduates will also join. The boy and his new girl want something better. It's not bad, but it isn't too fab. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Martian

Damon (Bourne), Chastain (Mama), Pena (Fury), Mara (127 Hours), and Stan (Captain America) are astronauts who have been on Mars. There is a storm and they all make it back to the ship except Damon. Wiig (Bridesmaids), Daniels (Looper), Bean (GoT), Glover (Community), and Ejiofer (2012) are workers at NASA who need to get him back home. Damon does a great job. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Sicario

Blew me away! The music is terrifying. There were scenes where I was like, "Holy Shit!" Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) is an FBI agent that is pulled into the drug war as a way for covert agents to get away with murder. Del Toro (Usually Suspects) and Brolin (The Goonies) are agents or are they. Some one is a "hitman" or sicario, but you won't be able to guess. Everything is unpredictable and it gets super intense. Del Toro needs to win an academy award for this. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Grandfathered

Stamos (Full House) is a womanizer who owns a restaurant. An ex who broke his heart comes back into his life when his son comes knocking. Not only does he now have a son, he has a granddaughter. It had moments, but it's just not my cup of tea. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Grinder

Lowe (Parks & Recreation) and Savage (The Wonder Years) are brothers. One is an actor that wants a change and one is a lawyer that needs some confidence. I kind of expected more - it's just too exaggerated for me. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
