A Christmas Wedding

IMDb writes, "Emily and Ben met on Christmas day now plan to marry on this Christmas day almost two years later. Then Emily must attend work, and leaves the wedding plans up to Ben. Problems arise when procrastinator Ben tries to deal with bridesmaids dresses and dyed shoes, while perfectionist Emily is out of her mind with worry that her perfect day will be anything but. However, when a snow storm threatens to strand Emily at her work, she realizes that the only thing that matters is making it home to be with Ben and their Christmas wedding."

A Lifetime and not a Hallmark holiday movie, but still feel good. Paulson (American Crime Story) and Mabius (Chicago Fire) star. All in all, I say: SEE IT but like Hallmark movies record it so you can skip all the commercials - then the movie is just 30-45 minutes long.

Once Upon a Holiday

IMDb writes, "When a royal princess runs away from her obligations and duties to see how regular people live, she starts to fall in love with a good Samaritan who doesn't know her real identity."

Evigan (My Two Dads) is an American attorney for a royal family in this Hallmark movie starring his daughter. It's very far fetched, but fun like all Hallmark holiday movies. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Christmas Incorporated

IMDb writes, "Man inherited a company that has a toy factory in a small town. The town needs the factory to stay open. He goes to decide to keep or close the factory. Finds the meaning of Christmas along the way."

Lund (Bitten) does have chemistry no matter who he is acting with. This is another Hallmark holiday movie. It's nothing fantastic, just a predictable movie with a happy ending. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Merry Matrimony

IMDb writes, "An ad exec for a fashion magazine lands her dream assignment to organize the perfect Christmas wedding. Just one thing. The photographer she's been partnered with is her ex-boyfriend. She's got to bring her A game, while working through unresolved feelings.."

A Hallmark channel movie - new for the holidays. It is predictable. It has an ok plot - there isn't really much chemistry between the two main characters. It's decent for a quick Canadian Hallmark Production though. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Ricki and the Flash

Streep (Suffragette) is Linda who gave up her family in hopes of being a star. She left them for LA and when she didn't become a big rock and roll sensation she tried to return home only to find her family had moved on. She is the house band for a small bar when her ex Kline (Dean) calls to ask her to come home to help their daughter who is going through a divorce. Gummer (The Good Wife), Springfield (Traces), Platt (Pitch Perfect), and Stan (Black Swan) also star. Diablo Cody (Juno) wrote the screenplay and Demme (The Killing) directed, and even still it was bad. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it was mostly Streep singing horrible songs anyways.

Z

Ricci (Sleepy Hollow) is Zelda soon to be Fitzgerald. The pilot for Amazon shows her during the war and it ends with her seeing F. Scott for the first time. She was an interesting person in real life - it has potential. I thought the editing and writing could have been better, but the two have chemistry. Stenhouse (Allegiance) is F. Scott and Strathairn (The Blacklist) is her father. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Highston

Highston is a young man who keeps company with celebrities - not really - they are all in his head. They give him advice. In the pilot on Amazon Flee and Shaq are his two accomplices while he decides whether or not to stay in a psychiatric facility.Armstrong (Supernatural) is his uncle. Rajskub (A World Away) is his mother. Fuller (Supernatural) is his doctor. Parnell (Lost in Austin) is his father. It's well written and well acted. I enjoyed it. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Edge

The pilot is showing on Amazon right now. The pilot is based on a western series of books. The editing is sloppy, the plot confusing, and the writing even worse. I like Martini (Fifty Shades Darker) and love Strahovski (Chuck), but it's just too weird. Kwanten (True Blood) does a horrible job. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Final Girls

Farmiga (6 Years), Ludwig (Vikings), Dobrev (Vampire Dairies), and Middleditch (Silicon Valley) find themselves inside an old horror movie. Akerman (The Ticket) and DeVine (Modern Family) are two of the characters in the horror movie. A young girl reconnects and finds closure with the death of her mother. It's pretty funny - well done in my opinion. All in all, I say: SEE IT

No Escape

Bell (Man Up) and Wilson (Zoolander 2) are moving their family to Thailand. It just so happens they move the day after a rebel group has taken over the country. They do whatever they need to in order to survive. Brosnan (I.T.) is a sort of CIA guy who decides to help the family get to Vietnam to avoid their beheading. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Man From U.N.C.L.E

A Guy Ritchie (Snatch) movie that is sort of a prequel for the tv series. Cavill (Batman vs Superman), Hammer (The Lone Ranger), and Vikander (Ex Machina) are the three agents US, Russia, and UK respectively. Grant (The Rewrite) makes an appearance as the leader. It has a fun Cold War plot with action and gadgets. There is humor has there should be in a Ritchie film. It leaves you thinking there could be a part 2, but I guess there wasn't enough of a box office draw for a sequel. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

Mann (Kong: Skull Island) is trying to figure out what he wants for his life. He's in high school and up until his senior year things were going great - he was detached. His mom makes him interact with the neighbor girl Cooke (The Signal) who has cancer and his world changes. Offerman (Fargo), Britton (Nashville), Shannon (Miles), and Bernthal (The Walking Dead) all star. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Mockingjay 2

It's just like the book - I can see now why it needed to be in two parts. It's still heart breaking - it's also the end. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Scream Queens

IMDb writes, "On the twentieth anniversary of a 1995 sorority pledge which went wrong, a college campus is rattled by a series of murders." Roberts (Nerve), Samuels (The DUFF), Michele (Glee), Curtis (Halloween), Lourd (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Hudson (Nashville), and Breslin (Zombieland) all star. All in all, I say: it's an acquired taste - it's a little campy - the soundtrack is so good - SEE IT

Theo chocolate

From their website: "It’s pure joy in every bite and it comes from passion. But for us, it’s about more than chocolate. It’s about the land, the people, the dedication and the interconnected relationships that bind us all.
It’s why our founder, Joe Whinney first pioneered the supply of organic cocoa beans into the United States in 1994. Traveling and working in the tropics of Central America and Africa, he fell in love with the land and the people farming there. He recognized an injustice in the way that both were being exploited and wanted to do something to make a difference.
Over the next decade, Joe worked tirelessly to champion organic cocoa beans in the U.S. and promote Fair Trade practices for the people farming those beans. He built lasting relationships and deep trust with farmer groups—all the while focused on the goal of someday making chocolate himself and sharing his passion with the world."

It is so delicious and dairy free in the Kroger organic section.
All in all, I say: EAT IT

Secret in Their Eyes

Ejiofer (Triple 9), Kidman (Lion), and Roberts (Mother's Day) are all working on a joint task force to bring down a mosque sleeper cell in NY after 9/11. During the operation Roberts daughter ends up dead by the hands of one of the team members CIs. The DA won't do anything because he needs the CI. There is a twist and then another twist - the last 15 minutes of the film are good. The acting is top notch, it just moves a little slow in my opinion. All in all, I say: RENT IT

Man Up

Bell (No Escape) lies about who she is when Pegg (Star Trek Beyond) mistakes her for his blind date. The two work through a lot during the adventures. They end up at her parent's anniversary party. Yes, it's predictable, but you watch for the two of them deliver smart lines. The screenplay is well done. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Into the Badlands

Wu (The Man with the Iron Fist) is AWESOME - the choreographer of the martial arts in this is AWESOME. It's sort of like Wu is a Samurai with a Shogun (Baron) to pledge loyalty too. Czokas (Loving) is one of the Barons. All the Barons are trying to out do the other with power and money. They command a personal army. Wu's character is the most bad-ass. I love the action, but the plot is so predictable and has so been done before. I just fast forward and watch the action. It's traditional martial arts - use of cables so the characters appear to be flying. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Agent X

Every channel seems obsessed with having an action tv show - one where a white guy fights bad guys with cool martial arts and gun play. This one hopes to outlast others with names like Stone (Mother's Day), Shea (Grey Lady), Hephner (Interstellar), and McRaney (Longmire). A myth where the reason the VP of the US has no real responsibility is because the VP is in charge of Agent X and deciding how the agent will operate in the interest the US outside the law. It ridiculous really - it's just too much like all the other action shows. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

What If

Radcliffe (Now You See Me 2) and Kazan (Ruby Sparks) become good friends when they both really need a friend. Driver (Midnight Special) is Kazan's cousin and Radcliffe's friend - he does a decent job, but his character is a little too much like his character on Girls. Spall (Life of Pi) is Kazan's fiance, but his ambitions do not really coincide with Kazan's. The movie is based on a play, but it's not half bad. The screenplay is what really makes this movie - it's really well written. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Spectre

Perfect ending to the Mendes - Craig James Bond alliance. Waltz (Big Eyes) is the bad guy, but so too is Sherlock's Moriarty - Scott. M, Q, and Moneypenny return. This ties things up from the past an present very nicely. The action is amazing - as always. The plot is sound - as always. The movie is just great bond. Sam Smith does the opening song. I can't wait for a less rough and musclely bond and for a new slimmer bond like Connery to take over. These four movies remind me of the Dark Knight Trilogy is has to get dark before it can get light again. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Deeply Odd

The next book in the Odd Thomas series by Koontz.
Booklist writes, "The seventh Odd Thomas novel takes place a mere 19 months after the events of the first book, which shows just how tightly knit this story is—more of a serial, really, than a series. An unplanned encounter with a hateful trucker leads Thomas to put his own life on the line to save the lives of the three children who will otherwise die at the hands of the man. Thomas, you see, has a special gift that allows him to see not just the spirits of the dead (the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock is a supporting character in the book) but also events that have not yet happened but certainly will, unless he intervenes. Odd Thomas is an engaging narrator, a young man who’s still coming to terms with the rather staggering recent changes in his life, and, although the setup of the story would normally suggest a fairly predictable conclusion—This very bad guy isn’t really going to get away with it, is he?—there’s never anything predictable about an Odd Thomas adventure. Another satisfying entry in this wildly popular series. HIGH-DEMAND BACKSTORY: It’s Koontz, and it’s Odd. Class dismissed. --David Pitt"

All in all, I say: READ IT - it's better than the last couple.

The Good Witch (movies & tv series)

Bell (Jag) stars in this Hallmark movie about a mysterious woman who comes into a small town and fixes up an old haunted mansion once owned by a woman known as "The Grey Lady". Many thought her to be a witch and some thing the new woman in town is as well. She may be... while she helps her fellow towns people, she also falls in love with the town Sheriff (Potter from Heartland). All in all, I say: SEE IT
Same characters as the original. The old house is turned into a Bed & Breakfast. It seems like a stranger who comes to town might take everything away from Bell's character Cassie. All in all, I say: SEE IT
The wedding everyone in town has been waiting for. Cassie's true identity is discovered and it's not as villainous as it sounds. All in all, I say: SEE IT
Cassie's niece comes into town - she might be no good. Town leadership is making some bad decisions. All in all, I say; SEE IT

Cassie and Jake have a new baby, and there is a lot going on with Cassie now being mayor. All in all, I say: SEE IT

It's her birthday and it appears as though she might be in danger - but is she really. All in all, I say: SEE IT.
There is a family memento that Cassie feels she must find which will reveal some secrets about "The Grey Lady". All in all, I say: SEE IT
Jake has died leaving Cassie with her young daughter, two step-children, and father-in-law. A new doctor moves into town, and a friend that got her through the hard times may want to be more than friends. Denton from Desperate Housewives joins the cast. Hallmark moved beyond the special movies and has made it into a tv series. It is in its second season. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Paper Towns

IMDb writes, "After an all night adventure, Quentin's life-long crush, Margo, disappears, leaving behind clues that Quentin and his friends follow on the journey of a lifetime." It's based on the book by the author who write The Fault in Our Stars, and for that reason it was a let down. The boy chases down the girl and she's all - why did you follow me? I know it's a coming of age story, but talk about torture. It was also predictable. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Olive Kitteridge

An HBO four part movie event. Starring McDormond (Fargo) and Jenkins (Bone Tomahawk). IMDb writes, "A middle-school math teacher Olive and her marriage with Henry which spans 25 years." It was a little on the slow side. It's nothing other than what is written above. All in all, I say: SKIP IT. It was well acted and written I just wasn't in the mood to watch a slow movie about a persons entire life.

Bone Tomahawk

Russell (The Hateful Eight) is a Sheriff determined to do his duty. Wilson (Fargo) is a cowboy determined to get his wife back despite his debilitating injury. Fox (World War Z) has killed more Indians than any of them and is really their only hope of making it. Jenkins (LBJ) is the one that sort keeps everyone from going crazy, sometimes the voice of reason, and most times the chatter box. They are all in it together to free the cowboys wife (Simmons from Banshee) from a group of cannibals that everyone is afraid of even the bravest Native American warriors. Once they all come together it is gross and disturbing. It is suspenseful and scary. It's a western and an old fashioned road trip movie - on horses. It's well acted and well written. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Southpaw

A boxer loses everything when his wife (McAdams from Spotlight) is killed. This movie is how he tries to get it all back. He needs to find real friends, a real trainer, get his daughter back, and get his career back. Fuqua (Shooter) directs, Sutter (Bastard Executioner) writes, and Gyllenhaal (The Man Who Made if Snow) acts the crap out of this part. 50 Cent and Whitaker (Roots - the re-boot) also star. All in all, I say: RENT IT - predictable but the fight scenes are amazing. I rented it on Directv.

Wildlike

Purnell (Kick-Ass 2) is sent to live with her uncle in Alaska while her mom goes into rehab. Her father having died a year ago. Her uncle is a perv. She escapes and on her travels to make it back to Seattle, Washington he meets and forms a father-daughter type bond with a man (Greenwood from I, Robot) hiking in memory of his deceased wife. It's well written and well acted. All in all I say: SEE IT. I watched it on Directv.

Summer's Moon

Green (Burying my Ex) ends up chained in someone's basement when she accepts a guys invite to go home with him on a road trip to find her father. He ends up being her brother and her father (McHattie from 300) is a serial killer. It's stupid. It's gross to be gross and dirty just to be dirty. It's pointless. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Royals

This is a stupid drama/comedy about a fictional royal family. It's supposed to be soap opera like. It's done by E. And it's stupid, but you will watch it all in one sitting if you start. You can't help yourself. It's an over exaggerated train wreck that you can't take your eyes off. Regan (300), Hurley (Serving Sara), and a cutie Austen (Unforgotten) all star. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it's a dirty pleasure. I am ashamed of myself for having seen it and found it fun to watch.

The Water Diviner

Crowe (Gladiator) is a farmer that doesn't protest when his three sons venture to fight in Turkey. The war is a blood bath on both sides. After his wife passes, he wants to find the bodies of his sons and bring them home. There are obstacles he hasn't foreseen. Courtney (Suicide Squad) and Kurylenko (A Perfect Day) star. It is historically interesting. The romance is a little far fetched and predictable, The other stuff is good. All in all, I say: RENT IT. I watched it on Directv.

Hidden

Do NOT read up on this - just watch it. Skarsgard (True Blood) and Riseborough (Bloodline) star as the parents. It's an end of the world - apocalypse type thing. Do NOT look it up or read anything about other then my blog or it will be ruined for you. The twist is AWESOME. Trust me - this is bad ass. A family is hiding in an underground bunker. It was stellar. Scary, suspenseful, great dialogue, great acting, and perfect twist. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Bloodsucking Bastards

Yes, it's about vampires. A group of people who worked in a mindless office have things livened up a bit when new management comes in. They have a unique way of getting the employees motivated to become great or food. Kranz (Dollhouse) is the lead. The script is pretty bad. It had potential to be funny, but the pacing, editing, and writing ruined it. Someone should remake it - better. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Crimson Peak

Wasikowska (Alice Through the Looking Glass) is a young woman who loves to write and she sees the ghosts. Beaver (Supernatural) is her father who wants the best for her, and that is a man who makes his own fortune. So, he isn't interested in Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island) who is begging for money to keep his ancestral home open and running. He is hoping for Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) who is a doctor. The girl goes for the "bad" boy. His sister proves to be crazy - Chastain (The Huntsman). The house is super cool - the effects are super cool - you expect that from del Toro (Hellboy) you also get the death of a child - seems be his signature. It is suspenseful and horrific. You will guess it all before the movie is half way over, but it's still scary. I was surprised that I liked it since I don't really like any of his other stuff. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Road Within

This seemed like a good idea. An independent type road trip film where three people escape from a therapy facility and bond. They - none of them - overcome anything by the end that I can tell. The guy with Tourette's is annoying. I didn't like the actor. I love Patel (Newsroom) but his character was annoying. I think their disabilities annoyed me too much to enjoy. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Burying the Ex

I like Yelchin (Odd Thomas), but he annoyed me in this. I fast forwarded through a lot. It was predictable and just dragged on too long. The dialogue and the acting did nothing for me. Green (Wish I was Here) and Daddario (San Andreas) play the girlfriends. One ends up dead and because of a curse comes back, and one is the new girl. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Fort Bliss

I wanted to like this movie about a woman who is a medic in the military. She is career military and her job keeps taking her away from her son. I like Monaghan (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), but the movie was too slow for me. Too slow and too depressing. It wasn't bad - I just didn't get into it. All in all, I say: SKIP IT. If you do see it anyways - there is a part in it that I didn't like - something that I hear happens a lot in the military.

Tomorrowland

Robertson (The Longest Ride) is lured with promises of missions into space by a little girl from another dimension. Lurie (House) is out to stop it from happening. Clooney (The American) although reluctant helps her get to this mysterious place called Tomorrowland. It is true Disney magic. I can't write too much because it will spoil a lot of surprises. It's a fun film. All in all, I say: SEE IT. I watched it on Directv.

San Andreas

I am a sucker for disaster movies - I can't help myself - you always know who will survive. They are predictable, but I still love to watch. This had some great special effects. There was only one really bad line - at the end. Johnson (Ballers) is a helicopter fire and rescue guy - which is totally believable. Gugino (Watchmen) is his estranged wife. Daddario (Percy Jackson series) is his daughter. It's about earthquakes!! All in all, I say: SEE IT. I watched it on Directv.

Fargo (tv show)

I couldn't get into season one of Fargo as a tv show on FX. I have gotten hooked on season two though. Wilson (Phantom of the Opera) is a state cop who has married the local sheriff's (Danson from CSI: Cyber) daughter. Smart (Designing Women) is the wife of a crime boss who has recently suffered from a stroke. Donovan (Burn Notice) is her oldest son who has designs on leading the family. Another crime group wants in on the families action since the old man has become ill. There might be war. Meanwhile the youngest in the clan has gotten himself killed in an unusual way after shooting up a diner. I love the characters. I love watching to see who is the smartest and who is going to figure things out. I think the state patrol's wife is the smartest so far. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Ashby

Rourke (Diner) is a retired assassin for the CIA. He is discovered by a young neighbor who is conducting a life history assignment for a class. Roberts (Scream Queens) is the young man's love interest. During the interaction between the two, Rourke delves deeper in the reasons behind some of his assassinations and discovers he was double crossed. Will he pick up a gun again to get revenge? All in all, I say: SEE IT. I watched it on Directv and it was decent.

Entourage (The Movie)

A lot of cameos. A lot of the same as the tv show. It's just like an extended version of one of the shows. It you watched the series then I think you should see the movie and get closure. If you didn't watch the show - there is no point. All in all, I say: SEE IT
