Sam Worthington

5'10'' and born in 1976 in England, but has been Austrialia most of his life. He was in Avatar, Clash of the Titans, and the lastest Terminator. His voice is - wow - and he is sooooo handsome. Was in the running of James Bond, does a voice on a Call of Duty game, and right now is making Avatar 2 & 3. Hunk. All in all, I say: HUNK.

The Chronicle of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Prince Caspian is on a quest to find 7 swords to fight evil that is taking over Narnia. The 2 youngest are brought into Narnia along with a cousin to face their fears and help with the quest. Alot of Christian metaphors. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you like the series.

The King's Speech

Based on a true story about the current Queen Elizabeth's father. He was horribly mistreated as a child and developed a stutter when he was 4. With the help of a common man the Prince, soon to be King, confronts his past and his fears and delivers a war time speech to his people. All actors do an excellent job. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Lombardi

An HBO production. A documentary on V. Lombardi - the greatest NFL coach ever. It made me cry, tuaght me a lot of football references, and was partially narrative by Lombardi himself. Really well done - All in all, I say: SEE IT

3 Boring Films

So, these three movies were boring. There was really no new info in the Countdown film. Chambon is a teacher that has a one night stand with the father of one of her students - won't last. And Arn was a weird - Crusade type movie - a Christian crusader knocks up someone and fights along side a Muslim - didn't follow a linear plot though. All in all, I say: SKIP THESE

Tomorrow When the War Began

It's the Australian Red Dawn and it is awesome. I had to know why I didn't know anything about this, so I Bing - and I find it is based on a series of books. So, now I want all 7 books in this young adult series. Also, three books that are based the story of the main character in the other 7 of the Tomorrow books. There was a guest appearance of one of my favorite Australian actors. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you can find it.

Legend of the Guardians

The animation is cool. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Owl kids are kidnapped and forced to work for an evil owl. Two - both dreamers & fighters - learn to fly so they can go get help from an ancient group of soldier owls. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you liked the books or your a kid - I got bored and didn't see the end.

Boogie Woogie

An art version of Ready to Wear - the movie about fashion - both with a star studded cast. I got bored within the first 15 mintues. Not my cup of tea & everyone wants to sleep with everyone else -boring. All in all, I say: SKIP IT.

Wild Target

Nighy of Underworld and Emily Blunt of - well you know - and a Harry Potter kid. A hitman, a thief, and an apprentice hang out for a few weeks and end up forming a strange sort of family. It's a caper film - some chuckles. All in all, I say: RENT IT if you like a light hearted English film.

True Grit

Wow - I loved it. But 1st let me say I never liked John Wayne - I am a Gary Cooper and Clint Eastwood western fan. So, to see this great screenplay and these great characters directed by Coens - was AWESOME. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Black Swan

This movie is described as dark - it goes way beyond dark. I felt like I was going crazy by the middle of the picture. The insane ride the watcher is taken on distracts from the dancing too much. They all did a great job with the acting - it's just by the end I was like "what the f$%^". All in all, I say: SKIP IT.

Avalon High

Disney movie so it's - well Disney like. All the member of Camelot have been recreated. Who is who and can they avert destruction by Mordrid? All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you are a Camelot fan & then hey - why not?!

Tron: Legacy

So, Bridges' character goes back into the network every night after the last movie and thinks he has found a way to establish perfection. His creation takes over and destroys new programs that created themselves - that part lost me somewhat. Bridges' son has become quite the "user" - meaning programmer/hacker. He gets sucked in and with the help of his father they must get recreate the net. Only three action scences - worth seeing the digital work though - the plot was weak. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you saw the original or love special effects - otherwise SKIP IT - don't take kids - it's liike 2 hours long and talk, talk, talk

Coincidence

When I was sick I rewatched several of my favorite espisodes of Buffy & Angel. Which is weird timing because:
The character Riley: was just on Law & Order: LA and Mother & Child
The character Tara: was just on The Killing Jar
The character Spike: was just on PS I Love You on HBO
The character Buffey: a clip from her show was just on Jon Stewart
The character Angel: is on Bones
Alot of coincidence

Update

Book of Eli is playing on HBO now & I was so mad at myself for not catching the fact he was blind unti lthe very end. This time I watched it with mute on, so I could look for clues. There were tons of clues that he was blind. Still mad at myself.

The Killing Jar

Busey & Madsen together - the younger Busey. There were like 10 producers and 10 executive producers so you know this one was going straight to video. A serial killer, a madman, a waitress, two young kids, a truck driver, and a cop are at a diner late one night. In walks, Mr. Green with a case of money for a Mr. Smith who killed a family of four for a land deal to go through. Problem - which one of the people in the diner is Mr. Green. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you are a fan of Madsen - which I am so I try to see everything he does. I have been quite a sucker lately.

13

Is 13 a lucky number? Yes, good luck and bad luck. A group of wealthy gamblers meet every year or so and enter contestants into a game of Russian Roulette. Round 1 each player gets one bullet and stands behind another player. Round 2 each player gets 2 bullets. Round 3 - 3 bullets. The last players standing have the representative pick a ball - the 2 with black stay for round 4 - the rest leave with their winnings. The longer you stay in the round the more money you stand to win. 13 gets in by mistake and wins. Will he make it home with his winnings? Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, and 50 Cent are just some of the acotrs in this - every new scene brings a new heavy weight. So why wasn't it released nationwide? All in all, I say: STREAM IT - I really got into it.

30 days of Night: Dark Days

Part 2 picks up where last one ends. Wife of hero heads to LA to spread the word about Vampires and runs across a group of people trying to kill the head vampire. Typical screenplay - they all die but her and wouldn't you know - she finds a way to bring back her husband - and that's all she wrote. The sex scene wasn't even very good - they wear the same clothes the entire movie. You will recognize the actress she is on the new AMC murder/cop show that takes place in Florida - brain fart - I can't remember it. All in all, I say: SKIP IT stop at the first and call it a night.

Centurion

Another movie about Rome's 9th Legion. They are wiped out except for one. This is how he survives from beginning until the end when Rome turns its back on him. You might remember Fassbender from Inglourious Basterds - he has a lot of stuff coming out. First time seeing West since The Wire went off air on HBO. Three very strong female performances added & no sex - thank goodness no need to force some romance into a film about soldiers. All in all, I say: STREAM IT - it's good.

Mother and Child

A circle of life kind of movie that I think you needed to be a mother to really connect. One woman (Benning) gives up her child when she is 14 and when her mother dies and she meets a new man, she is convinced to look for her daughter. Meanwhile, we also meet the daughter (Watts), who started taking care of herself when she was 17 and who gets pregnant from an affair with an older widower from her law firm. While giving birth, which she never wanted to do, she dies. Also, within all this a woman is trying to adopt a child - she - you guessed it - ends up with the grandchild of the original woman (Benning). Grandmother & grandchild live in the same neighbor - less than a block from each other - destiny - blah! All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you're a mom and then I say: RENT IT.

The Fighter

It was filmed a lot like a documentary. It felt like I was watching the movie while high. Some of the stuff that happened was just weird or bizarre. It made me feel a little uncomfortable at times. Everyone did an ok job in the movie - I just don't think it was Academy Award winning performances.

The Tourist

An Interpol agent falls in love with a thief. He splits and she doesn't go with him. Fast forward 2 years. He makes contact, but is she ready this time. You know in your heart who the thief is. Victor from Beverly Hills Cop is the bad guy - what fun. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Good, The Bad, and the Wierd

A bounty hunter (good), a train robber (weird), and a gangster (bad) are all chasing each other to find a treasure (which turns out to be nothing any of them expected. They are also being chased by others - a little long. Spoiler Alert: not like the western good, bad, and ugly - no one comes out on top. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you are bored and it comes on tv.

The Warrior's Way

Filmed like a fairy tale or graphic novel would be filmed. Danny Huston does a good job at being the bad guy as always. Because it is part Asia and part Western means no true happy ending. The baby and the filming make it worth a trip to the theatre. All in all, I say: SEE IT.

Burlesque

The music and dancing were good. The plot was crap. There were some surprise appearances, but even they didn't do their best. All in all, RENT IT because although it was predictable the music was good.
