Nothing to Lose

Book 12 in the Jack Reacher series. This one had a good character introduced - there were parts that were fairly interesting. Biggest problem - there were like 4 different plots in this - all of them highly ridiculous. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - stay as far away from it as possible.

A Wanted Man

Book 17 in the Jack Reacher series. He's on his way to Virginia to meet the woman who took his position in the military when he gets picked up by three people. Turns out on is a hostage and 2 seem like bad guys - the beginning with him is interested. The more the plot develops the worse and more implausible it becomes. It gets down right ridiculous and someone dies that didn't need to except it pushed Jack to kill everyone like usual. He gets away without any being any wiser. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

61 Hours

Book 14 in the Jack Reacher series. The parts of the plot at the beginning with the bus crash, the witness that needs protecting are all good. The parts with the secret building with drugs in it is just stupid. I don't get how or why that would be a plausible thing. One of the characters dies which was pointless except to get Jack angry enough to kill a bunch of people and to blow up the secret military building - which he doesn't get in trouble for. Not realistic. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - unless you're an addict like me and you have to read every book in the series and then be done with it.

Bridgend

IMDb writes, ""Bridgend" follows Sara and her dad, Dave as they arrive to a small village in Bridgend County. The village is haunted by suicides amongst its young inhabitants, and Sara falls dangerously in love with one of the teenagers, Jamie while Dave as the town's new policeman tries to stop the mysterious chain of suicides. The film is an uncompromising story focused on the relationship between vulnerable teenagers and their parents who are left in the dark. The story of the film is based on a mysterious suicide cluster that took place in Bridgend County, a small former coal-mining province in Wales. Between December 2007 and January 2012 seventy-nine suicides were officially committed in the area. Most of the victims were teenagers, they hanged themselves and left no suicide notes. Danish documentary filmmaker Jeppe Rønde followed the teenagers from the area for six years and wrote the script based on their life stories. Bridgend is Rønde's fiction film debut. It is entirely shot on location in Wales, with many of the local teenagers casted as actors.". It was entirely too slow and too long and too weird for my taste. All in all, I say; SKIP IT

Independence Day: Resurgence

The aliens come back - the mother ship with the Queen mother - because they are like insects. Earth is able to fight them off with help from a new species. It had some potential but went way too cheesy. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Same as the first - same actors, director, screenwriter, effects, music, and so on. The plot is somewhat interesting. The very beginning and the very end are not quit what I thought was in the books. All in all, I say: SKIP IT unless you watched the first and then hell - you might as well. I say it on Directv but it's coming on Netflix soon.

Kill or Be Killed

Plot sounded interesting - well it isn't. It's so bad I stopped after about 10 minutes. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Glitch

Streamed this one on Netflix. It is a one season show that aired in Australian in 2015. In a small town 6 people rise from their graves at the age they died. They can't leave town or they will decompose. The local sheriff and town doctor to try to solve the problem and keep it quiet. It ends strangely and there are no more seasons. It was so good until the last show and I was really interested in all the characters. All in all, I say: SKIP IT because it will leave you hanging and there is no real resolution.

Night of the Living Deb

A very strange woman tries to have a one night stand with a cute simple guy. When they wake up there has been a zombie uprising in Portland because of contaminated water. It's a comedy - and it's cute. All in all, I say: STREAM IT if you like funny zombie horror.

Being Canadian

A documentary by a Canadian on his search for what it means to be Canadian - as well as other questions. Tons of amazing people interviewed simply because they are Canadian. It is funny and a good watch. All in all, I say: SEE IT - please and thank you - sorry.

Nerve

An online - illegal game where you have to pay to watch and vote on what players will do - dares. Or you can be a player and make money - if you follow through on the dares. Roberts (Nancy Drew) starts to make money but then gets in serious trouble when she snitches. Franco (6 Balloons) is pretending to be someone he's not because he has his own agenda. The two team up. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Shining

Kubrick (2001 Space Odyssey) takes Stephen King's novel to the big screen. I got to see it on the big screen - the unedited version. The opening credits  which I have never seen before - awesome, The music - which you rarely get the full effect of on TV - eerie. The acting - which you forget is kind of bad. Some scenes you never will see on tv - disturbing. Got to say - very scary. All in all, I say: SEE IT - if you haven't in awhile - in its entirety.

Last Cab to Darwin

A single man is the only cab driver in a very small Australian town. A big city doctor has a new machine that can be used to help aid in death. The cab driver finds out he is dying and wants to use the machine. He goes on a cross country adventure to get there only to discover something about himself and his friends, so he goes back to die at home. It's not bad. All in all, I say: STREAM IT

The Age of Adaline

I finally broke down and saw this. Lively (Shallows) and Huisman (Orphan Black) are a couple that meet and fall in love. She wants to break it off because she doesn't want to hurt anyone when she eventually has to leave because she doesn't age. The movie explains why at the beginning in a non-cheesy way. Then you don't really think about it. It was ok. All in all, I say: STREAM IT

Mascots

It's from everyone that brought you Best in Show - same writers, director, producers, and actors. They have a good thing going and I hope they never break the mold. This was funny - as was to be expected. I watched it on Netflix. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Call Up

A group of elite on-line gamers get asked to try out some new VR equipment. They get stuck in the game - the winner is the one who survive. The acting is horrible. I watched it in fast forward just to see who wins. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Brace for Impact

A woman who investigates plane crashes is sacred to death of flying. She and her brother are about to fly home when she has to get off the plane - the work her therapist has done to waste. On her drive home instead she finds out the plane went down - her brother on board. She uncovers a conspiracy all on her own - people thinks she crazy, but she ends up being right. The plot behind the crash is stupid and the acting is so bad that I watched it in fast forward and got the gist. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

This time he helps the person who took over his last job in the military - Smulders (How I Met Your Mother). It's a plot that surrounds a military contractor. Cruise has a better lock on Jack as a character in this film, The action is good and the screenplay was well done. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Curse of Sleeping Beauty

A guy is having dreams about a sleeping beauty as he inherits an evil house. It's so stupid I couldn't get through the entire thing. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

What We Become

Dinesen (Rita) is a mother in this Swedish horror flick. A family is trapped in their house during a zombie type outbreak - started by a flu like virus. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Accountant

Affleck (Justice League) is a high functioning autistic who is great with numbers, and because of the training this father and the army gave him he is also good with guns and martial arts. Simmons (I'm Not Here) is an agent for the treasury. Bernthal (Daredevil) is a mercenary for hire. Tambor (Gary Shandling Show) is an accountant. Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) is kind of a whistle blower. Smart (Fargo) also stars. It's awesome. I liked every bit of it - even though I predicted the ending it was still good. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Luke Cage

Colter (The Following), Rossi (SoA), Woodard (So B. It), Jones (He Got Game), Whaley (Cold Moon) all star. I like it better than Daredevil, but about the same as Jessica Jones. This series starts not too soon after the Avenger incident in NY. The story takes place in Harlem. All in all, I say: SEE IT on Netflix.

Painkillers

An elite military crew wakes up in a special hospital and can't remember a thing. Slowly they discover they are really mercenaries, they are in a corporate base, they are the bad guys, and there is something supernatural out there. Canadian Penikett (Supernatural), South African Brandt (Luther), and Feore (Thor) all star. It's a low budget straight to video movie, but I liked it. All in all, I say: STREAM IT on Netflix

Ghostbusters (2016)

CGI got better. The cast is all wrong. The screenplay is horrible. Nothing was funny. Bored out of my mind & didn't finish it because I didn't care. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Westworld

Written and directed by the author of Jurassic Park - Crichton.  IMDb writes, "In 1983, a robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.". All in all, I say: SEE IT, but don't think it is anything like the new series. Brynner (King & I) stars as the bad robot.
Nolan, writer of Memento, thought this up. He took an interesting idea that Crichton had and is going to take it way beyond any of us could imagine. The bad guy is multiple people alive & not so alive. There is so much more going on behind the scenes. Wood (Into the Forest), Marsden (Shock & Awe), Sarafyan (Me Him Her), and Newton (The Slap) are the robots. Hopkins (Thor), Wright (Friday's Child), and Hemsworth (Kill Me Three Times) are humans behind the park. Harris (GeoStorm) is the man in black, but he isn't what Brynner was. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Snowden

Based on the true story and the documentary. IMDb writes, "The NSA's illegal surveillance techniques are leaked to the public by one of the agency's employees, Edward Snowden, in the form of thousands of classified documents distributed to the press.". All in all, I say: RENT IT. Everyone seems to have an opinion although most people have no clue what happened. This was done by Oliver Stone (Ukraine on Fire) so you have to understand he does have an agenda. Gordon-Levitt (The Night Before) stars as Snowden. Woodley (Big Little Lies) is in this - unfortunately.

Fathers & Daughters

Crowe (The Mummy) is the writer. Seyfried (Twin Peaks) is the daughter. Paul (The Path) is the boyfriend. Kruger (Sky) and Greenwood (Gold) are the aunt & uncle. McTeer (Paint it Black), Spencer (Hidden Figures), and Fonda (Our Souls at Night) also star. It's kind of predictable, but the script and most of all the acting are really worth it. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Girl on the Train

Blunt (Mary Poppins Returns) is the main character, This is based on the book. Bennett (Equalizer), Ferguson (The Red Tent), Evans (Beauty and the Beast), Janney (West Wing), Ramirez (Gold), and Theroux (Mute) also star. It is almost exactly like the book - very little was left out. It was so well done. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me

This book is written by her friends and family. The each is written from by them and recorded by them on the audio book. Each is packed with the lies or pranks Chelsea has pulled. Some of them are bad and skipped over them - I didn't like the prank (well I don't like any of them really) or I didn't like the voice. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Dorothy Must Die

1st book in a trilogy about a trailer park teen who ends up in an Oz that is in no way like the book or the movie. It's disconcerting and I got bored within five chapters. I didn't care at all for the plot - it wasn't interesting at all. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Bad Luck and Trouble

Book 11 in the Reacher series. We get a glance into into the past. Reacher had a crew of investigators when he was in the military. 8 people - they had a motto - no one messes with special investigators. 4 of the group are found dead. The others meet up to solve the mystery around the deaths. They get back into old routines quickly considering it's been awhile since they worked together. I don't like the cheesy affair they place in there. The bad guy wasn't as bad as they made him out to be. The plot got weaken toward the end - I think there should have been a different kind conspiracy at work. All in all, I say: READ IT - because one of my favorite characters show up - Frances Neagley.

The Hard Way

Book 10 in the Reacher series. He finds himself in the middle of a kidnapping - yes again. This is one of the more unrealistic plots, so it was hard to get through, I don't like the books in the series that are too far-fetched and unrealistic. He solves the kidnapping and gets the bad guys with some help from a lady friend. I like the strong women in this series - when they show up. I don't like that they all seem to fall in love with him when his only interest is to bang hot chicks. He respects the women, but doesn't really if that makes sense. All in all, I say; SKIP IT

No Tomorrow

IMDb writes, "Evie, a risk-averse quality-control assessor who falls for free-spirited thrill seeker Xavier only to find out he lives his life that way because he believes the apocalypse is coming". All in all, I say: TRY IT - it's cute and only a half hour comedy.

Besides he's gorgeous

The Confirmation

Owen (Anon) is a father down on his luck big time - everything seems to be going wrong, but he's a good, decent man. His son spends a weekend in the steps of his father and because of his good heart they both learn something. Things come around. Bello (Monunmental) stars as the ex-wife, mother. All in all, I say: SEE IT - it's on Netflix

Bolgen (aka The Wave)

There is a fjord in Norway that will one day like it has in the past turn into a tsunami when pieces of the surrounding mountain fall away. This is a disaster movie starring a geologist and his family. The day before they are to move to the city it happens. The movie shows audiences what will happen. It's a really good disaster movie - only problem it was dubbed - super yuck - give me sub-titles any day. All in all, I say: SEE IT - but i love disaster movies. It's on Netflix.

Warcraft: The Beginning

Fimmel (Vikings), Foster (The Mechanic), Cooper (Preacher), Patton (Precious), Negga (Preacher), and Kazinsky (Second Chance) all star. It's based on the video game. And...it was terrible. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Central Intelligence

Hart plays the same basic character he plays in every film - in this he's more of the straight man. He is an accountant who peaked in high school. Rock is the former fat kid turned HOT CIA agent. It was funny in parts - it wasn't as bad as I though it would be. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you like comedies. I rented it on DirecTV.

Aftermath

It's not the apocalypse it's revelations - demons are possessing people. In the middle is a family trying to get back to each other and to get away from the end of the world. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it's SyFy but the writing isn't that great.
