Criminal

Costner (Waterworld) is a convict with brain damage. He gets the memories of Reynolds (Daredevil) a CIA agent with some important information. Costner follows the memories to save the day and have a happy ending. Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jones (Double Jeopardy), Pitt (Dawson's Creek), Oldman (The Professional), Molla (Blow), and Nolasco (Prison Break) all star. Martial artist Adkins (Zero Dark Thirty) also stars but he doesn't do any martial arts. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - there is nothing excellent about it.

Hunters

A new syfy show - aliens inside people. A task force seeks them out to fight them. It's so bad and not much of a plot. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Tiger House

A young girl with a bright Olympic future is hurt by her boyfriend accidentally. She hasn't determined what she wants when she finds out she's pregnant. While she's breaking the news to her boyfriend a band of outlaws breaks in and takes her boyfriend's family hostage. She has to use her abilities not only to escape, but to save the family. Skrein (Deadpool), Scott (Hitman), and Kirkwood (Dredd) all star. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - it's not very good.

River

Skarsgard (Girl With Dragon Tattoo) and Walker (Four Weddings and a Funeral) are homicide partners. He has an odd talent - he has to use it to solve a crime close to him. Everyone in this does an amazing job. Marsan (Ray Donovan) also stars. It's gritty - excellent script and superb acting. All in all, I say: STREAM IT on Netflix.

Cold Days

14th book in the series. Dresden has come back from the dead and has to fulfill his obligations to act as the Winter Knight. His first job turns into a series of impossible tasks - as always. All in all, I say: READ IT if you have read the others.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Same cast - same premise, a wedding. If you loved the first movie you will enjoy the second. It's not as good as the first though. It kind of just reminds you how much you liked the characters. All in all, I say: SEE IT

The Walking Dead: Book 10

Jesus' group, Rick's groups, and Ezekiel's group all get together in a show down in hopes of ending Negan's rule of the area. Carl is trying to adjust to the new living arrangements. Things aren't going as well as Rick hoped. Will Negan turn it around and out think Rick? All in all, I say: READ IT - if you've read the others.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders

Sinise (Forrest Gump) stars as the head of a team of FBI agents that look into the murder and kidnappings of Americans overseas. I had hoped it would be 50% another culture and 50% solving crime. It's more like 5% culture and 95% looking for foreign serial killers. I don't like serial killing stuff. I've given it three episodes & I think I'm done. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Ready Player One

A book just made for children of the 80s - made for the X generation. It is not only a commentary on a life lived on-line, but a fun look at our past. It's a book set in the future. A wealthy man has left his fortune to the lucky person that can win a game he constructed before he died. It is well written with excellent characters. Fans of 8-s music, movies, and tv shows will enjoy the premise. People who are into computers and VR will enjoy the premise. I listened to it on audio - it's read by Whil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation). All in all, I say: READ IT

The Catch

She is in investigations and security and he is a thief/con artist. They fall in love. It reminds me of The Thomas Crown Affair. It's a Shonda Rhimes, so I probably won't be able to stand it for more than a season. Enos (The Killing) and Krause (Six Feet Under) star. It's very fashionable. All in all, I say: TRY IT - I will for a few more episodes at least.

Breathless

A one season British tv show about doctors and nurses at a hospital in London around the 1950s. It's supposed to be the hospital version of Mad Men. It's pretty bad. All in all, I say: SKIP  IT

The Ranch

Masterson and Kutcher (That 70s Show) are brothers. One has stayed on his father's Colorado ranch his entire life and one went off to become a football star. The star returns home and decides it's time to help his family. Elliot (Tombstone) and Winger (Urban Cowboy) are the parents. They have been together a long time and live apart. She owns a bar and he owns the cattle ranch. Cuthbert (24) is Kutcher's high school sweetheart who is engaged to Harrison (Reaper). It's a short half hour comedy. There is some drama to it - the cast has chemistry which makes it fun to watch. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Flaked

Another Netflix original comedy I tried, but couldn't make it all the way through one episode. Arnett (Arrested Development) writes and acts in this. Just not my kind of comedy I guess. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Happy Valley

A British hour long drama made for Netflix star Lancashire (Oliver Twist). She was a detective until the rape and later suicide of her daughter caused her some problems. She's now a Sgt that runs the "beat cops" of a local town. In season one she is trying to work out her life with her son getting married, her sister getting out of rehab, raising her grandson, and dealing with a kind of romantic relationship. In season two, she helps catch a serial killer. It's a fantastic show. Excellent writing, acting, and plot. I love it - All in all, I say: STREAM IT

Master of None

Comedian Ansari (Parks & Recreation) writes, directs, and acts in this half hour show on Netflix. I tried - I watched about three episodes, but I couldn't get into it. I did laugh and hardly ever smiled. I just didn't get it I guess. All in all, I say: SKIP IT
