I'll go ahead and tell you Mary has cancer and is dying. Also, the vampires curse is to become a dragon like creature that eats people - usually only the bad guys though. Again, the sex scenes are repetitive just like in book one so those can be skipped. There is one character I think is interesting and I hope the third book will revolve around him. All in all, I say: READ IT if you are going to go through the series otherwise SKIP IT
