Keaton (Jackie Brown) as Batman who is after the Joker played by Nicholson (The Shining). Vicki Vale is played by Basinger (Cellular). Filmed in 89 and all the actors were reaching the other side of middle age. It was basic and had the luck of being filmed by Tim Burton - the early years. All in all, I say: SEE IT - especially if you like Burton's films. He probably flipped a coin to see if the lead would be Keaton from his Beetlejuice or Depp from his Edward Scissorhands. It was meant to be comical.
Burton brings back Keaton and this time he has Catwoman (Pfeiffer from Dark Shadows - another Burton film) and Penguin (DeVito from My Cousin Vinny). Again, it is light, appropriate for kids, and comical. Walken (Sleepy Hollow) makes an appearance - Burton enjoys slipping him in now and again. All in all, I say: SEE IT.
