1950s holiday movie. IMDb writes, "Three Devil's Island escapees hide out in the home of a kindly merchant and repay his kindness by helping him and his family out of several crises." Bogart (Casablanca), Ray (The Green Berets), and Ustinov (Death of the Nile) were all three popular and well known. The three together made for an amazing comedy/drama. All in all, I say: SEE IT.
IMDb writes, "Two escaped cons only prayer to escape is to pass themselves off as priests and pass by the police blockade at the border into the safety of Canada." DeNiro (The Family) and Penn (State of Grace) are the cons. Moore (Mr. Brooks) also stars. It is a comedy - a little unbelievable - but it was ok for the 80s. All in all, I say: SEE IT - after you see the original. It's kind of fun to recognize the differences.
