The remake of The Jackie Robinson Story. I've read the story in 7th grade language arts many times and we have watched the original movie afterward that actually stars Jackie Robinson himself.
It was in black and white when it was released. In the new movie an unknown plays the lead. He wasn't as tall and as well spoken as the real Jackie Robinson. The part that was cast the best was that of Ford (Firewall) as Branch Rickey. Knight (ER) has a small role and does a good job with it. Most of the actors that play the other Dodger players are recognizable as well - none too famous though. It was spotty, but not bad. All in all, I say: READ STORY, WATCH ORIGINAL, and then RENT new one.
