Begin Again

Knightley (Pride & Prejudice) is dumped by her newly made rock star boyfriend (Levine from Maroon 5).  She is hanging out with a friend from London in a New York bar (Corden from The History Boys) when a recently fired and usually drunk record producer (Ruffalo from The Kids are All Right) hears her song. He convinces her to make her own record by recording her songs all over New York City. They each learn a lot about themselves and the music industry. They discuss the idea of "selling out" in music and in life. They help each other during a critical point in both their lives. The music is amazing, the acting is amazing, and the screenplay is amazing. There is a scene I would like to try one day with the right date. It's even better than Carney's other film I loved to death - Once. It is the best movie so far this year - 2014. All in all, I say: SEE IT - BUY the soundtrack - and in a few months RENT IT and watch it with someone who hasn't seen it yet.
