Gotham

Origins of all bad guy and the good guy himself - Batman. I was bored out of my mind. The all star cast did nothing to entice me. I won't watch another episode. A shame & a pity - it had potential. All in all,  I say: SKIP IT

Dolphin Tale 2

IMDb writes, "The team of people who saved Winter's life reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother's passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital." Based on the true story. It is a lot of talking and emotion - not as much action as the first film. Desmond (6) got bored. I cried almost through the entire thing. All in all, I say: RENT IT - if you liked the first.

Silver Linings Playbook

IMDb writes, "After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own." Pat is played by Cooper (Limitless) and Tiffany is played by Lawrence (Hunger Games). De Niro (Goodfellas) plays Pat's father. Weaver plays Pat's mother (Stoker). Tucker (Fifth Element) plays a friend of Pat's. Stiles (Blue) plays Pat's ex-wife's friend. All in all, I say: SKIP IT - I think there was a lot of hype and it didn't deliver - at least not for me.

Soy Delicious - Butter Pecan

The picture is of yogurt, but I'm reviewing Ice Cream  - dairy free, butter pecan flavored ice cream. It is amazing and as close as you can get without real dairy ingredients. All in all, I say: EAT IT

Masters of Sex

IMDb writes, "Drama about the pioneers of the science of human sexuality whose research touched off the sexual revolution." Sheen (Underworld) plays the doctor. Caplan (Mean Girls) plays the assistant. Bridges (Stargate SG-1) plays Sheen's boss. The acting is decent - I already knew the plot. I guess I was just hoping for more - not more sex or anything - just more substance. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Equalizer

A 1985-1989 tv series. IMDb writes, "A retired intelligence agent turned private detective helps various threatened clients to equalize the odds." English actor Woodward (Hot Fuzz) played the detective. All in all, I say: SEE IT. It is dated - obviously - but I loved watching it as a kid.
IMDb writes, "A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her." Woodward's character from the tv series is played by Washington (Man on Fire) and he's on fire again. The directing is excellent as it would be thanks to Fuqua (Shooter). Moretz (Hugo) plays the Russian girl. Kiwi Csokas (XXX) plays the bad guy - and does it well - as always.
Pullman (Independence Day) plays the husband of Leo (The Fighter) the main characters friend and former boss at CIA. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Only Lovers Left Alive

A vampire (Hiddleston from Thor) is an underground musician in love with another vampire (Swinton from Moonrise Kingdom). They sit for long periods of time. Sleep for long periods of time. They have long drawn out conversations with other good actors for long periods of time. Hopefully, your catching on. I was bored - I skipped scenes and finally just gave up. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Zombie Night

A horrible made for tv movie. A family tries to survive a night of zombies. Everything goes wrong - just watch any other zombie movie for the gist. Acting - horrible. Special effects - horrible. Writing - horrible. Editing - horrible. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

Rage

I know - why don't I ever learn my lesson and stay away from Cage movies. This one is an all new low. His daughter is killed and a reformed bad guy becomes bad again. Super boring. All in all, I say: SKIP IT

From Dusk Till Dawn (tv show)

Most of it was just the movie broken into parts. Larger roles for the cops chasing the criminal brothers. The last few episodes were vampire politics. I was bored and not impressed. I think maybe the entire thing needed to go in a different direction than the movies. Boring - All in all, I say: SKIP IT

The Maze Runner (movie)

Fantastic - read my summary of the book. The movie did an excellent job - everything as I imagined it to be. O'Brien (Teen Wolf) is such a good actor; I can't wait for him to get older and get more parts like this. Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones) does a good job as always. There are some faces you will recognize in supporting cast. Clarkson (Easy A) was a surprising choice though. All in all, I say: SEE IT after you read the book.

Madam Secretary

Leoni (Deep Impact) does an amazing job as a new Secretary of State. She use to be an analyst for the CIA, left to be a professor, and is called back after the last Secretary mysteriously dies. Her husband (Daly from Wings) is supportive, but still a strong character is his own right. Sometimes the men is female driven shows just aren't strong enough to pull it off on screen, but he is. Neuwirth (Cheers) works in the Secretary's office along with someone fresh off of House of Cards. I think Ivanek (Argo) is going to be a bad guy. This show was fast paced, intelligent, and really well done from set design to writing. Leoni also produces. All in all, I say: SEE IT

House of Cards

Spacey (The Usual Suspects) and Wright (The Princess Bride) do an amazing job. Kelly (Changeling), Mara (127 Hours), and Stoll (Midnight in Paris) are super in their supporting roles. It about politics in Washington. It focuses on the house majority whip. All in all, I say: SEE IT. I binge watched it this weekend.

Draft Day

IMDb writes, "At the NFL Draft, general manager Sonny Weaver has the opportunity to rebuild his team when he trades for the number one pick. He must decide what he's willing to sacrifice on a life-changing day for a few hundred young men with NFL dreams." That's about the best I can do for a plot or summary. I was confused most of the time with all the football lingo. Even though I didn't know half the time what was going on the acting was good. There was sub-plot in the film and I like Leary (Two if By Sea). All in all, I say: SEE IT. I saw it on Directv, but it's also on Netflix.

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn

Kunis (That 70s Show) is having a bad day. She tells a man, Williams (Good Will Hunting), that he has 90 minutes to live. He has been a very angry man for most of his life, but hearing that he is dying he attempts to make amends. It is annoying at first, but toward the end it is touching. All in all, I say: SEE IT. I rented it on Netflix.

The Hundred-Foot Journey

An Indian family opens a restaurant across the screen from a top notch French restaurant run by Mirren (The Queen). The two groups argue at first, but food becomes a common ground and the two groups mix. It is sweet and gentle. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Expendables 3

IMDb writes, "Barney augments his team with new blood for a personal battle: to take down Conrad Stonebanks, the Expendables co-founder and notorious arms trader who is hell bent on wiping out Barney and every single one of his associates." It's the same core group that were in the first two. I felt like it was slow to get going. The ending was good. You can't judge these movies based on plot only action scenes. The action scenes in this are good. It's also good to have a female in the cast who can kick butt. All in all, I say: SEE IT

Cosmos

Tyson hosts this series. I waited until it came to Netflix to see it. I watched about three episodes and I was bored. I think that if I didn't already know the basics of what he is talking about I would have been very interested. All in all, I say: SEE IT if you don't know the bascis of science and how the Earth and its many species came into being. If you already know or don't care then, SKIP IT

The Unbelievers

IMDb writes, "Renowned scientists Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss cross the globe as they speak publicly about the importance of science and reason in the modern world." If you're a fellow non-believer this is a good film. All in all, I say: SEE IT
