When we left off on the first book the 14 had split into 3 groups. They will become 2 groups. Each one will struggle with people from the outside world as well as the contaminated air. New problems are arising and government has decided to bomb the area to burn off the chemicals. Can group one make it to the airport? If they do get there, will there be help to rescue the others? Will the others at the store even managed to survive? Some will be lost. All in all, I say: READ IT if you read the first book. If not, then SKIP IT. I like disaster movies though and so far this series isn't bad.
