This is the first book in a long series. The main character is B. In this book B is trying to figure out how to live in a diverse school and a racist and abusive home life. There may or may not be a zombie outbreak. All in all, I say: READ IT - it is a set up for the rest of the series. It is a quick, easy read - there is a twist if you don't read the back of the books or too many reviews. There are drawings every chapter or so that are interesting as well.
