Jack is a drifter - ex-military - who is brought in for murder. He uncovers a small town secret which leads to a big time crime/conspiracy. People start dropping like flies. There is romance and a lot of action. The character is different than he is in the movie Jack Reacher. This is the 1st book in the series. Some of the conspiracy plot stuff is boring. All in all, I say: READ IT
