Argo

Based on the true story of a recently declassified CIA mission. Declassified by Clinton during his administration. Affleck (The Town) and Cranston (Drive) play the CIA agents behind the mission; Affleck is also the director. Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Goodman (The Artist) play the filmmakers behind the mission. Garber (Alias) plays the Canadian Ambassador to Iran during the mission which interestingly enough took place on my 6th birthday. Donovan (Good Night, and Good Luck), DuVall (Carnivale), McNairy (Monsters), Cochrane (Dazed and Confused), Denham (Shutter Island), and Bishe (Red State) play the six Americans. IMDb writes, "A dramatization of the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran."  All in all, I say: RENT IT but I really don't see why it is being nominated for Best Picture.
