Ripper Street (UK)

Jack the Ripper has already torn Whitechapel apart - still fresh from the failure of not capturing the killer the cops of Whitechapel carry on solving murders in one of London's worst areas. IMDb writes, "A new drama set in the East End of London in 1889 during the aftermath of Jack The Ripper murders. The infamous H Division - the police precinct charged with keeping order in the district of Whitechapel- is in a chaotic state trying to keep order after a tumultuous time for London and reported infamously worldwide." Macfadyen (MI-5) is the head detective (he's also the same age as me - go figure - he looked older to me). It's in its first season on BBC America - seems to be on the same schedule in UK too. It's very gritty - a CSI of the 1880s. All in all, I say: SEE IT
