Ender's Game
I did not read the book, so you may or may not disagree with my recommendation. Butterfield (Hugo) is an very good actor. Ford (Raider's of the Lost Ark) is a very good actor. Steinfeld (True Grit) is a very good actor. Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) is a very good actor. Kingsley (Gandhi) is a very good actor. Davis (The Help) is a very good actor. The book is very popular. The special effects kept my oldest niece and nephew interested the entire time. After thinking about the movie for over a week I have decided that I would have preferred that Hollywood made the prequel book into a movie first and then this film. There was a lot of background information for this - I think it would have been more enjoyable and perhaps shorter if we had seen the prequel first. I do NOT like the ending - it isn't an ending - will there be a sequel like in the novel - who knows - irritating. The message is lost. I feel like it should have been, "Life is not a game." But, I feel like it fell short of an important message. All in all, I say: WAIT and see it on video or tv if you like this summary. IMDb writes, "The International Military seek out a leader who can save the human race from an alien attack. Ender Wiggin, a brilliant young mind, is recruited and trained to lead his fellow soldiers into a battle that will determine the future of Earth."
