This is the official passing on of the franchise from the Star Trek crew to the Star Trek Next Generation crew. From this point on Next Generation will be at the center of the plots. It was filmed in 1994 when the last of the tv series took place. McDowell (Clockwork Orange) is the bad guy; he wants to kill, well, everyone. Because of a bunch of time space continuum stuff both captains work together; going back and forth in time. All in all, I say: SKIP IT. I liked it at the time it came out - super excited about it - but after years there are better films in this franchise.
