War with the Klingons is a constant subplot throughout all films and the tv series. IMDb writes, "

The Enterprise crew must help them escape to thwart a conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the last best hope for peace." All in all, I say: SEE IT - the script is a bit better than a couple of the others.
