Logan

Set the furthermost in the future than any of the X-Men series. This is supposed to be the last we see of Wolverine aka Logan. Warning - you will cry - not once, not twice, but possible three times. James Mangold (Zoo) does the story and directing for this film which feels a lot like Mad Max. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart reprise their X-Men roles. Boyd Holbrook (Morgan) and Richard E Grant (GoT) are bad guys trying to create new mutants using DNA from mutants and human mothers. The one to watch is Dafne Keen (Refugees); she is amazing. The stunts and action in this are amazing. The martial arts is perfection. It's gritty and real - not all colorful and fanciful like previous X-Men or Avenger movies - it's more like the Dark Knight series. In my humble opinion it is the best X-Men movie to date. You don't have to have seen all the other movies, but you will get all the references and hidden gems if you have. The metaphor of Logan being Shane in the western Shane is perfection!! You have to see all of Shane to get the full ramifications. His last words, "So this is what it feels like." I think he is referring to both unconditional love as well as peace. I also like this line, "Nature made me a freak. Man made me a weapon. And God made it last too long." There are some choice lines from Shane too. The editing and cinematography are exceptional. All in all, I say: SEE IT - hell BUY IT
